Dear Mr. Lee:
This department is in receipt of your request for the consideration of a de minimus variance for the.
allowable sign surface area on the main entrance sign identifying the above referenced project. As per
Section 3.0.13 of Schedule K - Sign Regulations of the City of Sanford Land Development Regulations,
signage permitted at this time for subdivision entrances is as follows:
Subdivision Entrance. For residential subdivisions, one sign not exceeding sixteen (16) square feet in
sign surface area and not exceeding six (6) feet in height above finished grade on each street side from
which the subdivision is entered shall be permitted. For nonresidential subdivisions, one sign not
exceeding thirty-two (32) square feet in sign surface area and not exceeding six (6) feet in height above
finished grade on each street side from which the subdivision is entered shall be permitted. Such sign
shall contain no interior illumination. Such sign may be located in street right-of-way with approval of
the City Commission.
However, as per Section 3.10.B.3 the Administrative Official shall have the authority to authorize a de
minimus variance for requests that exceed the standards by a difference of fifteen percent (15%) or less.
The request for sign surface area up to a maximum of 36.8 square feet for the Lexington Park main
entrance sign on W. V Street (SR 46) is approved based on the sign meeting the -de minimus provisions of
the Land Development Regulations.

Mr. Bobby Von Herbulis of McKee Construction Company submitted an application with the
City of Sanford for a permit to construct a retention wall for our Lexington Park project. We
have now contracted with Martin Masonry to do the wall. Is it possible to transfer the permit
