DESCRIPTION
The FCI 7100 series fire alarm control panel
is a multiprocessor-based,analcg addressable
system in a compact, yet expandable, plat-
form. Intended for commercial, industrial and
institutional installations, it is ideal for life safety
and property protection applications.
Th e basic 7 100 series control panel p ro-
vides two analog addressable signaling line
circuits (SLCs). Each SLC supports up to 99
analog addressable sensors, as well as up to
99 addressable monitor modules and/or con-
trol points. With 198 addresses available on
each SLC, total system capacity reaches 396
a did resses.The 7 100 uses an advanced Pre -
local that ensures an almost instant response
to events while at the same time suppressing
nuisance alarms.
The system may be programmed with ei-
ther theWindowsil-based Field Configuration
Program (FCIP-71 00) or through a compre-
hensive set of intuitive, securely Password
protected front -panel programming options.
This important feature allows the system to
quickly adapt to any future requirements
brought on by changes in Occupancies, build-
ing remodels, or other contingencies.
The sophisticated circuitry and powerful
analog software enables the 7 100 series fire
alarm control panel to read the specific sen-
sitivity level of each sensor and compensate
for any changes due to age, dust accumula-
tion or other environmental factors.Th e
7 100 incorporates the FC] Listed Integrated
SensitivityTesting (LIST) which meets NFPA
72 sensitivity testing and maintenance re-
quirementsThe LIST testing allows subsmn-
tial savings in both maintenance and service
while virtually eliminating nuisance alarms.
The Model 7 100-21D features an integral
DigimlAlarnn CommunicatorTransmitter
(DACT) with all popular transmission formats
and a 16 -digit telephone number field, It is 8 -
digit Carrier Information Code (CIC) compli-
ant and also prevents"clialer-runaway" in the
event of intermittent system faultsThe 7100-
2D is UL Listed for Remote Station, Propri-
etary, and Central Station fire alarm systems.
The 7 100 is housed in an attractive, con-
temporary styled cabinet. It allows ample

The FCI Series analog addressable plug-
in smoke sensors with integral communi-
cation provide features that surpass con-
ventional sensors. Sensitivity can be pro-
grammed in the control panel software, and
is continuously monitored and reported to
the panel. Point ID capability allows each
sensor's address to be set with decade
address switches, providing exact loca-
tions for selective maintenance when
chamber contamination reaches an unac-
ceptable level. The ASD-PL2 photo- elec-
tric sensor's unique optical sensing
chamber is engineered to sense smoke
produced by a wide range of combustion
sources. Dual electronic thermistors add
135'F (57'C) fixed -temperature thermal
sensing on the ASD-PLT2.
INSTALLATION
ASD-PL2 plug-in sensors use a sepa-
rate base to simplify installation, service,
and maintenance. A special tool allows
maintenance personnel to plug in and re-
move detectors without using a ladder.
Mount the base on a box which is at
least 1.5" (3.81 cm) deep. Suitable mount-
ing base boxes include:
* 4.0" (10. 16 cm) square box.
* 3.5" (8.89 cm) or 4.0" (10.16 cm) oc-
tagonal box.
* Single -gang box (except relay or isola-
tor base).
* With B501BH base, use a 4.0" (10. 16
cm) square box.
* With B224RB or B224BI base, use a
3.5" (8.89 cm) octagonal box, or a 4.0"
(10.16 cm) octagonal or square box.
NOTE: Because of the inherent supervi-
sion provided by the SLC, end -of -line
resistors are not required. Wiring 7 -taps"
or branches are permitted for Style 4
(Class "B) wiring.
FEATURES
• Sleek, low -profile design.
• Analog Addressable communica-
tion.
• Stable communication technique
with noise immunity.

DESCRIPTION
The Fire Control Instruments ADP
Low_ Flow Series photoelectronic air duct
smoke sensors are capable of sensing
smoke in air velocities from 100 to 4,000
feet per minute (0.5 to 20.32 m/sec).
The ADP series features low -flow tech-
nology that enables duct smoke detection
throughout a broad range of airflow
environments. Many difficult to solve
HVAC applications occur in low airflow
duct applications where reliable smoke
detection is critical. ADP low -flow tech-
nology can detect smoke at air speed ve-
locities of 100 feet per minute or greater,
while continuing the same reliable perfor-
mance to 4,000 feet per minute.
The ADP Series sensor samples air cur-
rents passing through a duct and gives de-
pendable performance for shutdown of fans,
blowers, and air conditioning systems, pre-
venting the spread of toxic smoke and fire
gases through the protected area.
These intelligent sensors communicate
and are continuously monitored through the
signaling line circuit. Sensor sensitivity
changes caused by dirt, temperature, or
humidity are reported to the panel, allow-
ing compensation algorithms to maintain
the sensor's set sensitivity. An advance
indication at the panel specifies the sen-
or address, allowing for selected main-
tenance to be performed as needed.
Remote alarm annunciation can be
accomplished by using the RA40OZ Re-
mote Annunciator or the RTS451 or
RTS451KEY Remote Test Station. Both
these devices allow testing of the sensor
from a remote location,
The ADP series low -flow duct sensors
are designed for simplified installation and
easy maintenance. The modular construc-
tion allows for easy cleaning and uncom-
plicated field replacement of the UL rec-
ognized power and sensor boards.
AUP Series
The ADIP (non-rela y) has outputs for a
remote LED display and remote test
switch. It incorporates zener diodes to con-
serve power for commu nications to other
devices.
The ADP is a 2 -wire device that requires
signaling line circuit power only.
The ADP -R (with relay) has powered
outputs for remote LED indication with
a remote test switch and audible sounder.
Two form "C" auxiliary contacts can be
configured as a relay version or jumpered
to mimic the non -relay version. It has a
patented cover tamper trouble signal.
The ADP -R is a 4 -wire device that requires
both signaling line circuit power and either
24VAC/DC or 120/240VAC for proper op-
eration.
