FROM DOH BEFORE APPLYING FOR A BUILDING PERMIT OR COMMENCING
CONSTRUCTION OF ANY KIND,
3) OBSERVATIONS REQUIRED BY THIS ENGINEER:
THE FOLLOWING JOBSITE OBSERVATION IS REQUIRED BY THIS ENGINEER
IN ORDER TO SECURE THE ENGINEERING CERTIFICATION OF THE POOL(S)
PRIOR TO DOH'S OPERATING PERMIT INSPECTION.
A) FINAL OBSERVATION (PRIOR TO DOH'S OPERATING PERMIT INSPECTION).
N2. GENERAL CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITIES
THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL SUPPLY OR COMPLY WITH THE FOLLOWING:
1) AN ACCEPTABLE I -INCH COLD WATER SUPPLY TO THE FILTRATION SYSTEM
WITH A MINIMUM 60 -PSI PRESSURE.
2)THE POOL MAKEUP WATER SUPPLY SHALL BE ACCEPTABLE POTABLE WATER AS
TO BACTERIOLOGICAL/CHEMICAL ANALYSIS.
AMPS OF --i --- PHASE/_ 248 _VOLTS ELECTRIC SUPPLY TO THE
ELECTRICAL PANELS. 120 VAC POWER SHALL BE SUPPLIED TO THE
UNDERWATER LIGHT LOW VOLTAGE TRANSFORMERS (LOCATED AROUND THE
POOL).
4) A 6 -INCH WASTEWATER GRAVITY LINE CAPABLE OF HANDLING __220 -G.P.M.
TO AN AUTHORIZED DISPOSAL AREA (AS ALLOWED BY LOCAL CODES).
5) A FIVE FOOT HIGH (MINIMUM) FENCE AROUND THE POOL AREA (TO MEET
OR EXCEED LOCAL CODES).
6) FIRST AID EQUIPMENT READILY ACCESSIBLE TO BATHERS,
7) A FACILITY OR AREA FOR CHEMICAL STORAGE UNDER ROOF AND PROTECTED
FROM ACCESS BY UNAUTHORIZED PERSONS (CHEMICALS MAY NOT BE STORED
IN THE FILTER ROOM OR VAK-PAK).
8) THERE SHALL Be NO PROVISION FOR DRINK OR FOOD -SERVING FACILITIES
WITHIN 12 FEET OF ANY POOL WATER'S EDGE.
9) PROVIDE AT LEAST 7 FEET VERTICAL CLEARANCE ABOVE POOL WATER AND
DECK SURFACES.
N3. MISCELLANEOUS CONSTRUCTION NOTES
1) THE FILTRATION SYSTEM SHALL BE LOCATED AS INDICATED UNLESS THIS
ENGINEER SPECIFICALLY GIVES PRIOR AUTHORIZATION TO RELOCATE,
2) ALL COLLECTOR TANKS SHALL BE PLACED STRICTLY AS INDICATED UNLESS
THIS ENGINEER SPECIFICALLY PROVIDES WRITTEN AUTHORIZATIONI TO RELOCATE,
3) IF APPLICABLE, THE GUTTER SHALL Be A MINIMUM 12 INCHES WIDE.
N4. CHEMICAL REQUIREMENTS
1) THE POOL CONTRACTOR, PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE, SHALL ATTAIN THE
FOLLOWING CHEMICAL OPERATIONAL PARAMETERS. WRITTEN CONFIRMATION
(VERIFIED BY A THIRD PARTY) SHALL Be SUBMITTED TO THE OWNER AS WELL
AS THIS ENGINEER. SUCH CONFIRMATION SHALL BE A SWORN, NOTORIZED
STATEMENT BY THE POOL CONTRACTOR ACCOMPANIED BY A WRITTEN REPORT
STATING THE LEVELS OF THE FOLLOWING CHEMICAL/LEVELS.

1) THE FLOORS SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED OF AN IMPERVIOUS MATERIAL AND
SHALL HAVE A NON -SLIP SURFACE FINISH. CARPETS ARE NOT (ALLOWED.
2) THE FLOORS SHALL SLOPE TO A FLOOR DRAIN (THE FLOOR DRAIN SHALL
COMPLY WITH LOCAL CODES).
3) A HOSE BIBS WITH A VACUUM BREAKER IS REQUIRED IN EACH REST ROOM.
4 THE JUNCTURE OF THE FLOOR AND WALLS SHALL BE COVED.
5� OUTSIDE ACCESS FROM THE POOLS) TO THE REST ROOMS IS REQUIRED.
6) EACH REST ROOM MUST BE LOCATED WITHIN A 200 -FOOT RADIUS OF THE
POOL WATER'S EDGE.
7) EACH RESTROOM ENTRANCE SHALL Be LABELED APPROPRIATELY ("MEN "/"WOMEN").
8) PROVIDE SMOOTH, SLIP -RESISTANT DECKING TO THE RESTROOMS FOR
THE FIRST 15 FEET MINIMUM.
N6. LIGHTING AND ELECTRICAL NOTES
1) ALL ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT AND INSTALLATIONS INCLUDING GROUNDING OF
METAL EQUIPMENT TO MEET OR EXCEED THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE.
2) NO OVERHEAD WIRING WITHIN 10 FEET HORIZONTAL OF INSIDE EDGE
OF POOL WALL.
3) ALL UNDERWATER LIGHTS SHALL BE EQUIPPED WITH LOW-WATER
CUTOFF DEVICES.
4) THE FOLLOWING AREA ILLUMINATION IS NECESSARY FOR APPROVED
NIGHT SWIMMING:
A) OUTDOOR POOL(S): 3 FOOT CANDLES AT THE POOL WATER AND
DECK LEVELS.
5) THE OWNER SHALL SUBMIT TO THIS ENGINEER 8 COPIES OF THE DECK
ILLUMINATION CALCULATIONS AND DESIGN. NOTE THAT THESE
CALCULATIONS SHALL BE SIGNED AND SEALED BY A STATE REGISTERED
ENGINEER. IF NO CALCULATIONS ARE AVAILABLE, THIS ENGINEER MAY BE
DIRECTED TO PROVIDE THEM.
6) IF NO ILLUMINATION CALCULATIONS AND DECK ILLUMINATION DESICN ARE
SUBMITTED TO DOH, THEN NO NIGHT SWIMMING WILL BE PERMITTED. IN

ELECTRICAL PANELS. 120 VAC POWER SHALL BE SUPPLIED TO THE
UNDERWATER LIGHT LOW VOLTAGE TRANSFORMERS (LOCATED AROUND THE
POOL).
4) A 6 -INCH WASTEWATER GRAVITY LINE CAPABLE OF HANDLING __220 -G.P.M.
TO AN AUTHORIZED DISPOSAL AREA (AS ALLOWED BY LOCAL CODES).
5) A FIVE FOOT HIGH (MINIMUM) FENCE AROUND THE POOL AREA (TO MEET
OR EXCEED LOCAL CODES).
6) FIRST AID EQUIPMENT READILY ACCESSIBLE TO BATHERS,
7) A FACILITY OR AREA FOR CHEMICAL STORAGE UNDER ROOF AND PROTECTED
FROM ACCESS BY UNAUTHORIZED PERSONS (CHEMICALS MAY NOT BE STORED
IN THE FILTER ROOM OR VAK-PAK).
8) THERE SHALL Be NO PROVISION FOR DRINK OR FOOD -SERVING FACILITIES
WITHIN 12 FEET OF ANY POOL WATER'S EDGE.
9) PROVIDE AT LEAST 7 FEET VERTICAL CLEARANCE ABOVE POOL WATER AND
DECK SURFACES.
N3. MISCELLANEOUS CONSTRUCTION NOTES
1) THE FILTRATION SYSTEM SHALL BE LOCATED AS INDICATED UNLESS THIS
ENGINEER SPECIFICALLY GIVES PRIOR AUTHORIZATION TO RELOCATE,

N6. LIGHTING AND ELECTRICAL NOTES
1) ALL ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT AND INSTALLATIONS INCLUDING GROUNDING OF

N2. FLOOR SLOPE RESTRICTIONS
I. ANY TRANSITION IN FLOOR SLOPE SHALL OCCUR AT A MINIMUM OF 5
FEET OF WATER DEPTH. ANY SLOPE TRANSITION MUST HAVE A 2" -WIDE
BLACK TILE ACROSS THE BOTTOM AND EXTEND UP BOTH SIDES OF THE
POOL, AS WELL AS A SAFETY LINE MOUNTED 2 FEET BEFORE THE SLOPE
CHANGE (ON THE SHALLOW -END). EACH SAFETY LINE SHALL HAVE
FLOATS LOCATED A MAXIMUM OF 7 FEET APART.
2. THE MINIMUM FLOOR SLOPE IS 1 FOOT OF DEPTH CHANGE FOR EACH 40
FEET OF HORIZONTAL DISTANCE. THE MAXIMUM FLOOR SLOPE IS 1 FOOT
OF DEPTH CHANGE FOR EACH 10 FEET OF HORIZONTAL DISTANCE.

TOLERANCE OF .25 NCH BETWEEN THE HIGH AND THE LOW AREAS.
2. THE GUTTER LIP SHALL SLOPE DOWNWARD 2 INCHES (FROM THE UP OF THE
GUTTER TO THE GUTTER DRAINS).
3. THE BOTTOM OF THE GUTTER SHALL BE LEVEL.
4. THE GUTTER ORAN FITTINGS SHALL BE PLACED AS INDICATED ON SHEET LE -3.1,
BUT SHALL NOT EXCEED A MAXIMUM OF 10 FEET OF SEPARATION.
5. ALL PIPING BEHIND THE POOL BEAM (AND BENEATH THE POOL FLOOR) SHALL
BE ON COMPACTED SOILS OR SECURELY ATTACHED TO THE POOL BEAM.

6. WHEN ONLY WALT. INLETS ARE SPECIFIED, THEY SHALL BE NO MORE THAN 20
FEET APART AND FLOW A MAXIMUM OF 15 GPM PER INLET FITTING. EACH WALL
INLET SHALL BE DIRECTIONALLY ADJUSTABLE.
7. LOCATE WALL VACUUM FITTINGS TO BE WITHIN 10 INCHES OF THE WATERLINE.
