Brigitte Stephenson shared the latest updates to the website which include additional
information related to the Collections policy with a fillable form, how to become a
friend, how to book a tour, exhibits, virtual tour, and Pathways to History.
Ryan Handley also met with Brigitte and Jerry to offer suggestions related to website
building.
• Discussion about the refinishing of the front entrance doors and the first potential
design.
• The History of Restaurants — Spring / Summer Exhibit
• Brigitte would like the Museum to host a one -day ticketed event where
participants would select a historic local Sanford restaurant and that
participant would have to cook a dish based off the restaurant.
• Jerry Sullivan suggested the use of Magnolia Square for the event.
• Museum staff are currently looking for old menus. Sean McCann mentioned
old match books from old restaurants.
• The event would represent the historic restaurants that have shaped the food
scene in Sanford.
• Hollerbach's Willow Tree and Colonial Room are mentioned as two
restaurants that are still in business and are of historic note.
• Suggested event date is Saturday May 11th, in Magnolia Square after 3 PM due
to the farmer's market.
• A marketing meeting should be scheduled February 13th, and to include
Christina Hollerbach
• Sanford needs a gala event like the Celery ball that Celery Soup presented
where the most money donated would become the Celery King and Queen.
Tickets.
• There used to be the Harvest Moon festival where people would make
tablescapes and buy the table as the fundraiser.
• Brigitte would also like to host a gala in October.
