Project Summary: Architectural Testing, Inc. (ATI) was contracted by Simonton Windows to
witness performance tests on a Series/Model 07-07, PVC sliding glass door at their facility
located in Pennsboro, West Virginia. The samples tested successfully met the performance
requirements for the following ratings: Test Specimen 41 SGD R40 95 x 79; Test Specimen #2
SGD R50 71 x 79. Test specimen descriptions and results are reported herein.

The following descriptions apply to all specimens.
Finish: All vinyl was white.
Glazing Details: The operable and fixed panels were exterior glazed with l" thick, sealed -
insulating glass fabricated from two 1/8" thick, clear tempered sheets separated by a
desiccated foam spacer system. The glass was set against double -sided adhesive glazing
tape and secured with snap -in dual durometer glazing beads.

Frame Construction: The PVC frame was assembled using coped, mechanical comer
construction, fastened with four screws per end. The frame intersections contained a foam
gasket at the head, and foam/butyl gaskets at the sill. A snap -in, PVC Threshold was located
at the head and sill at the operable panel. The fixed panel was secured at the jamb using a
continuous extruded aluminum angle clip. The clip was fastened with six' screws, three per
leg, two at the top and bottom, and two at midspan. A continuous extruded aluminum fixed
lite anchor was located at the head and sill at the fixed panel. The panel was fastened at the
exterior through the aluminum anchor with eight screws, four each at the head and sill,
evenly spaced. A snap -in PVC cover/bead was located at the exterior of the fixed panel at
the head and sill. A stainless steel roller track was applied to the interior track of the sill.

Installation: The unit was installed into a wood buck constructed from Spruce -Pine -Fir
construction lumber and sealed at the exterior and interior perimeter with silicone caulking,
with the exception of an approximate 6" long void at each interior sill corner. The unit was
secured to the test buck through the jambs using four #8 x 2-1/2" long screws, one at the top
and bottom of each jamb (screws embedded approximately 1-1/2" into the buck).

5. See Manufacturer's Installation Instructions for additional hardware anchoring if required.
6. Adjust Topcon anchor locations, if necessary, to mointain o minimum 2.0' clearance from mortar joints.
