The primary element is a steel reinforced high strength precast concrete beam with a U-shaped cross- section, which can be grout filled (poured) or remain empty. Masonry units may be placed on top of this primary bears element and poured with grout to form a deeper section for additional load capacity (steel reinforcement may also be added).
