TERMITE PROTECTION TO BE USED
1. BORA-CARE TERMITICIDE
SUBTERRANEAN TERMITE PRETREATMENT ONLY APPLIED TO GROUND FLOOR WOOD SURFACES. THIS
TREATMENT SERVES AS A PRIMARY TREATMENT TO PREVENT SUBTERRANEAN TERMITES. PRETREATMENT TO BE
PERFORMED AT A POINT DURING THE CONSTRUCTION PROCESS AFTER THE "DRIED -IN" STAGE WHEN ALL STRUCTURAL
WOOD AND SHEATHING IN PLACE, YET PRIOR TO INSTALLATION OF INSULATION AND WALL COVERINGS. TREATMENT IS
PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 482, FLORIDA STATUTES AND FLORIDA BUILDING CODE (FRC) SECTION R320
SITEWORK
1. REFER TO THE SOILS REPORT FOR SPECIFIC DESIGN REQUIREMENTS. SEE STRUCTURAL SHEETS FOR OTHER
REQUIREMENTS, WHICH WILL SUPERSEDE ANY OF THESE IN CASE OF CONFLICT.
2. REFER TO THE CIVIL DRAWINGS FOR LOCATION OF BUILDING WORKING POINTS, ROUGH GRADING, ON-SITE
UTILITIES, SITE IMPROVEMENTS, SITE RETAINING WALLS, AND SPECIFIC GENERAL NOTES. THE SOILS REPORT AND
CIVIL DRAWINGS SHALL OVERRIDE CONFLICTS WITH SITE WORK NOTED HEREIN.SEE LANDSCAPE DRAWINGS FOR
FINAL FINISH GRADES, PLANTING AND IRRIGATION.
3. PRESUMPTIVE SOIL BEARING CAPACITY IS 2000 PSF ON UNDISTURBED SOIL. REMEDIATE SOIL TO THIS CAPACITY.
ALL CONCRETE FOOTINGS SHALL BEAR ON UNDISTURBED SOIL OR ENGINEERED FILL. TOP OF FOOTINGS SHALL BE
1'- 0" BELOW FINISH GRADE (MIN.).
4. ELEVATIONS SHOWN ON THE SITE DRAWINGS ARE MINIMUM REQUIRED DEPTHS, IF DIFFERENT CONTACT THE
ARCHITECT.
5. NO EXCAVATION SHALL BE MADE WHOSE DEPTH BELOW THE FOOTING IS GREATER THAN 1/2 THE HORIZONTAL
DISTANCE FR M THE
0 NEAREST EDGE OF THE FOOTING.
6. ALL BACKFILL AT STRUCTURES, SLABS, STEPS, AND PAVEMENTS SHALL BE CLEAR OF GRANULAR FILL. PLACE IN 8"
LAYERS AND COMPACT TO 95%%% MAXIMUM DRY DENSITY DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASTM D1557. THE
BUILDING SITE SHALL BE KEPT DRY SO THAT EROSION WILL NOT OCCUR IN THE FOUNDATIONS.
7. COMPACTION BY FLOODING OR JETTING IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
8. DO NOT BACKFILL UNTIL SLABS HAVE CURED OR HAVE BEEN PROPERLY BRACED. (WHERE APPLICABLE)
9. EXCAVATIONS TO BE A MINIMUM OF 3'- 0" BEYOND NEW FOOTING LINE.
10. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR MUST TAKE MEASURES TO CONTROL SOIL EROSION AS PER ALL LOCAL AND STATE
REQUIREMENTS.
11. THIS BUILDING IS NOT DESIGNED TO BE CONSTRUCTED WITHIN A FLOOD ZONE, UNO. CONTRACTOR IS TO VERIFY

3. INSTALL ALL WATER, WASTE AND VENT PIPING IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE CODES. REVIEW
DRAWINGS AND PROVIDE ALL WORK FOR A COMPLETE AND OPERABLE SYSTEM, INCLUDING ALL
INCIDENTALS, REQUIRED BY CODE AGENCIES AND LOCAL GOVERNING BODIES.
4. PLUMBING LOCATIONS AND CLEARANCES SHALL BE COORDINATED WITH ARCHITECTURAL, STRUCTURAL,
MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL AND SYSTEMS TRADES TO FIT SPACES PROVIDED. ALL WORK SHALL BE
COORDINATED WITH ALL TRADES INVOLVED.
5. MANUFACTURER'S NAMES AND MODEL NO. LISTED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS OR ON THE SCHEDULES ARE
FOR THE PURPOSE OF ESTABLISHING A QUALITY OF MANUFACTURER OR A SPECIFIC DESIGN
CONFIGURATION. EQUAL PRODUCTS, AS APPROVED BY THE ARCHITECT / ENGINEER, WILL BE
ACCEPTABLE FROM OTHER MANUFACTURERS.
6. ALL HANDICAP FIXTURES SHALL BE MOUNTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE AMERICANS WITH DISABILITY
ACT (ADA) AND THE GUIDELINES SET FORTH BY THE FLORIDA ACCESSIBILITY CODE FOR BUILDING
CONSTRUCTION(FACBC).
7. INSULATE ALL EXPOSED HOT WATER PIPING AND ALL HOT WATER PIPING BELOW HANDICAP LAVATORIES.
8. ALL PIPING SHALL BE CONCEALED WITHIN THE CEILING SPACE, WALLS, AND CHASES AS SHOWN ON
PLANS.
9. ALL EXPOSED PIPING AT PLUMBING FIXTURES SHALL BE CHROME PLATED BRASS WITH ESCUTCHEON
PLATES AT THE WALL, FLOOR OR CEILING PENETRATIONS. PROVIDE SHUT OFF VALVE, 3/8" AT ALL LAV,
SINKS, AND WATER CLOSETS.
10. CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH AND INSTALL WATER SHOCK ARRESTORS AS REQUIRED EQUAL TO ZURN
SHOKTROL, INSTALLED PER MFR'S SPECIFICATIONS.
11. ALL WATER PIPING SHALL BE SLOPED TO DRAIN, AND SOIL, WASTE, AND VENT PIPING SHALL BE
SLOPED 1/4" PER FOOT MINIMUM.
12' PROVIDE DIELECTRIC UNIONS AT ALL CONNECTIONS OF DISSIMILAR METALS.
13, PROVIDE 1" RPZ BACKFLOW PREVENTER AT WATER SUPPLY CONNECTION POINT. PROVIDE SUPPLY
WATER SHUT-OFF VALVE IN GROUND BOX AT BUILDING PERIMETER.
