The portions of the doub,V2"X4" top plates, which are found to have -been damaged must be'removed'in such.a manner that.the replacement section, of'double.'top plate will -be provided with a min'imum,16„ of overlap splice. The;pressure treated 2"X4" bottom plate•is undamaged, howeversome additional attachment -to the existing concrete'foundatioh structure maybe,required.
