Page SU-01-0008 in the Jacobsen Homes' HUD Set -Up Manual was based on the 2004 FBC-R Code that was in effect when this detail was submitted for approval and included in the Set -Up Manual. The 2004 FBC wind speed was based on wind speed=Vasd (mph). Since that time Florida has adopted the 2010 FBC which is based on wind speed= Vult (mph). The loads that are derived from Vult utilize a factor of 0.6 whereas those based on Vasd do not utilize a reduction factor. Therefore, converting loads from Vasd to Vult results in the following equivalent wind speeds: 120 mph Vasd, Exposure B = 140 mph Vult, Exposure C 140 mph Vasd, Exposure B = 164 mph Vult, Exposure C The reference standard contained in the 2010 FBC for Vult is ASCE 7-10, while the reference standard in the 2004 FBC for Vasd is ASCE 7-05 John C.
