For allowable heights at wind velocities other than 120 MPH, see conversion table 1 B on the specification page for
tables at the beginning of this section and example below.
1. If the solid panel is greater or less than 10'-0", then the 1/2 the allowable screen roof beam span shall be adjusted
by the factor of +/- 2 x 1/2 (the solid roof panel span difference between the actual and 10'-0"). The adjustment io the
allowable screen roof panel width is applied as a plus if the solid roof panel is larger than.10'-0" and minus if the solid
roof panel is smaller than 10'-0".
2. For Span of "L" Of Beam; Use Screen Panel Width "W" From Drawing.
3. Load Span = 1/2 of Screen Beam Length + 1/2 of Solid Roof Span .
4. Spans are based a minimum of 10# / Sq. Ft.for up to a 140 M.P.H. wind load.
Example: To calcualate allowable span at 140 MPH wind velocity for:
2' x 6' x .050" x 0.120" beam with 5" Super Gutter with 112 Screen Roof Span of 14'-0"
1. Find span at 120 MPH: Span = 10'-10"
2. Convert Span to decimal feet: Span = 10'-10' = 10.83'
3. Select the appropriate multiplier for 140 MPH and 1/2 Screen Roof Beam Span = 14'-0" from the
conversion table 1 B found on the specification page for tables at the beginning of this section.
if the span is followed by'b' use Bending multiplier.
if the span is followed by'd' use Deflection Multiplier.
4. Multiply span in decimal feet by appropriate multiplier.
span at 140 MPH is 10.83' x 0.95 = 10.29' = 10'-3"

For Maximum Spans at wind velocities other than 120 MPH, see Conversion Table 3A on the specification page for
tables at the beginning of this section and example below.
Notes:
1. Glass Rooms: The addition of aluminum frame windows with glass panes that are designed to 110 M.P.H. wind load
requirements to the above upright sizes increases the strength so that additional framing is not required.
2. Tables assume extrusion oriented with longer extrusion dimension parallel to applied load.
Example: To calcualate maximum span 'L' at 140 MPH wind velocity for:
2" x 2" x 0.044" Self Mating Section with Load Width = 8'
1. Find 'L' at 120 MPH: L = 10'-3"
2. Convert 'L' to decimal feet: L = 10'-3" = 10.25'
3. Select the appropriate multiplier from the conversion table 3A found on the specification sheet at the beginning of
this section.
if the span is followed by'b' use Bending multiplier.
if the span is followed by'd' use Deflection multiplier.
4. Multiply 'L' in decimal feet by appropriate multiplier.
Vat 140MPH is 10.25'x 0.87 = 8.92'= 8'-11' Lawrence

Example: To calcualate maximum height 'H' at 140 MPH wind velocity for:
2" x 2' x 0.044" Hollow Extrusion with Load Width = 4'
1. Find 'H' at 120 MPH: H = 6'-11"
2. Convert'H' to decimal feet: H = 6'-11" = 6.92'
3. Select the appropriate multiplier from the conversion table 3A found on the
specification sheet at the beginning of this section.
if the height is followed by'b' use Bending multiplier.
if the height is followed by'd' use Deflection multiplier.
4. Mulliply'H' in decimal feet by appropriate multiplier.
H' at 140 MPH is 6.11' x 0.92 = 5.62' = 5'-7"
