Both panels also provide outstanding software features such as one-man walk test, passcode protected operation, cross - zoning, fire verify and fire retard zone programming, built-in programmer and diagnostics, and remote upload/download capability. There's also a Fire Drill feature that allows an authorized user to sound just the system's bells for evacuation exercises. The following sections highlight the unique features of the XRSFC and XRSSL fire panels. The XR5 panels each contain a built-in dual phone line module with line supervision and can communicate to one or two remote receivers using Synchronous Data Link Control (SDLC) digital dialer, Contact ID CID), or 4-2 formats. You can also selectively enable alarm, supervisory/ trouble, backup, and recall test reporting to either of the two receivers. The XR5 can send Alarm and Trouble reports directly to a user's numeric pager. Pager Direct is a must -have feature for anyone needing instant updates on the status of their system. You can remote program the XR5 panels using Remote Link'"' programming software from DMP to load programs into new accounts or make copies of existing programs. You can also upload the 16 event memory for diagnostic purposes. The XR5 panels also contain an internal English text Programmer that allows installers and service technicians to easily program and test the panels from an alphanumeric keypad connected to the remote annunciator bus. For system annunciation, you can select from several keypad styles to meet a variety of fire system requirements. The Model 692F LED keypad provides individual alarm and trouble LEDs as well as power, system trouble, and silenced LEDs along with a full function, backlit keyboard. You can also choose from 770, 690F, or 790F series alphanumeric keypads. Both LED and alphanumeric keypads meet all requirements for local system operation. For slave communicator applications, an enclosure door mounted Model 377 Trouble Annunciator Module provides Trouble and System OK LEDs with audible alert and a Silence button for acknowledging trouble conditions. This module is included with the XRSSL. You can now conduct one-man tests of the system and all connected devices using the Walk Test feature. A fire technician simply enters an access code into the keypad and the XR5 panels automatically enter the test mode. Each time a zone is tripped during the test, the bell rings for two seconds and a Sensor Reset is automatically performed to reset any latched detectors. When the test is completed, the results are displayed at the keypad and can be sent to the central station. The built-in false alarm reduction features include Cross -Zoning, Fire Verification, Fire Retard, and CleanMeTm reporting. Cross - zoning allows multiple zones to report alarms only when two or more are tripped. Should just one zone trip, a zone fault report is sent to the central station. Fire Verification provides a 120 second window during which a smoke detector can trip, be automatically reset, and then must trip a second time before an alarm is indicated. A single trip on the zone sends just a zone fault report to the central station. Fire Retard allows a programmable time of up to 250 seconds for waterflow detection. This eliminates the need for additional mechanical delays at the flowswitch. The XR5 panels operate on either 16 VAC from a wire -in transformer or 24 VDC from a main Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP). This allows the panels to be used as stand alone communicators or FACPs. When powered from the 24 VDC input of a larger FACP, the panels can operate as slave communicators with 12 VDC auxiliary output capability. Four open collector annunciator outputs and two optional Form C dry contact relays are provided on the XR5 panels for a variety of remote control and annunciation applications. E S L P R O D U C T I N FORMATION B U L L E T 1 N CleanMeTM remote maintenance reporting reduces false alarms Smart dual fixed/rate of rise heats work with photo chamber to catch fires faster Built-in drift compensation reduces false alarms Field replaceable optical chamber makes servicing a snap Small, low profile design blends in with any environment CleanMe"' COMPATIBLE For a current list of CleanMe compatible control panels, go to www.sentrol.cont/products/esi and click on the CleanMe logo. 521 SERIES Low Profile, Self -Diagnostic, Two - Wire, Photoelectric Smoke Detector with CleanMe TM UL Model numbers: 52113, 521 BXT, 521 C RXT ULC Model numbers: 5288, 528BXT Q,' California State Fire Marshal Approved LISTED The ESL 521 Series self -diagnostic, two -wire smoke detectors are the industry's first conventional direct -wire smoke detectors with analog features such as remote maintenance/trouble reporting (CleanMeTM'), drift compensation, and multi -criteria detection. The 521 Series continually monitor their own sensi- tivity and operational status, and provide a visual and remote trouble condition if they drift out of the sensitiv- ity range or fail internal diagnostics. This meets NFPA 72 field sensitivity testing requirements without the need for external meters. The 521 has a unique feature enabling it to send a signal (CleanMe) to the ESL 505 module (sold separately) when it has drifted outside of its UL Listed sensitivity range or has failed its internal diagnostics test. The 505 is an interface module that will signal any panel via relays when the 521 is dirty. Several control panels have the CleanMe software built in, eliminating the need for the 505 module. When CleanMe is not desired, simply leave the switch on the 521 off and it will work as a normal two wire detector. CleanMe allows the installer time to schedule a service call and avoid a false alarm. Time between cleaning detectors is dramatically increased because of the 521's built-in drift compensa- tion. This feature, usually only available in analog systems, allows the detector to automatically adjust its sensitivity over time as it becomes dirty, increasing dust life. And when the 521 has told you that cleaning is necessary, it's literally a snap with ESL's patented field replaceable optical chamber. continued 521 Series ESL Photoelectric Smoke Detectors The multi -criteria model 521XT photoelectric smoke detector/fixed rate of rise heat detector includes fast response algorithms for a quick response to both flaming and smoldering fires. Fast response algorithms allow the heat detectors to work intelligently together with the photo- electric smoke detector. As soon as the heat sensor detects a rapid rise in temperature, the sensitivity of the photoelec- tric sensor increases allowing it to detect smaller particles of combustion faster. Architectural and Engineering Specifications The ESL 521 Series photoelectric smoke detector is a low - profile, self -diagnostic , two -wire detector that monitors its own sensitivity and operational status. This detector meets NFPA 72 field sensitivity requirements without the need for external meters. Built-in drift compensation automatically adjusts the sensitivity as the detector gets dirty. Normal sensing occurs every 9 seconds. This rate doubles when a signal exceeding the alarm threshold value is sensed. Two additional successive signals above the threshold level will initiate an alarm. See installation instructions for information about correct installation and maintenance. The proprietary optical sensing chamber is field replaceable, allowing quick and easy cleaning and maintenance. Dimensions: 2" (5cm) -- - -- 5" (12c Specifications: Product Data Voltage.....
