NAILING PROCEDURE
Vinyt siding expands and contracts as
much as 1/4" over a 12'6" length with
changes in temperature.
For this reason_
1. Do not face -nail. Face -nailing is not
only unsightly, but it will cause vinyl tc
buckle win changes in temperature.
2 Do not nail any siding parts too tight.
Leave 1132" between the nail head and
the vinyl. Vinyl siding must be attached
"loo3efy."
3_ Center nails in sicts to permit expan-
sion and contraction of the siding.
4. Orivc nail$ straight and level to prevent
distortion and buckling of panel.
S. Start nailing vertIC21 siring and trim
pieces in the top of the uppermost slots
to hold them in position. Placa all othcr
nails in the center of -the slots.
6. Space nails a maximum of 16" apart for
horizontal siding, panels, every 12" for
vertical siding panels, and 6" to 12" for
the accessories.'
7. Make sure the panels are locked at the
bottom, but do not pull there tight when
nailing.
