Seven fasteners and washers were utilized per head and sill 4" from ends and 8" on center. F Place two 3/8" beads of sealant on the precast sill. Place the first bead 1-1/2" from the exterior edge of the sill. Place the second bead 1/2" from lire exterior edge of the sill. C. Place a continuous 3/8" bead of sealant on the exterior edges of the 1 x 4 treated lumber and the edge of the precast sill. B. Plumb and square the window in the opening. While the exterior flange is being pressed tightly to the opening, stat ting at the top of each Jamb, insert shims between the window jambs and the I x 4 at the Jambs at each pre -drilled installation hole, making sure the window is plumb and square. If shims are needed at thesill to level the window, shim at the comer of the w•induw, then place additional shims not more than 18" apart on center. Note: There should he no mon than 114"clearance between the window jamb and opening at any point along the sides of the window and no more than 1/9" clearance bettreen the sill and the bottom ofthe opening. C. Insert shims at the head of the window between the frame and the opening at each pre -drilled installation hole, while the exterior flange is being pressed tightly to the opening. Note: There should be no more than 114" clearance between the window frame and opening at any point along the head of the nindow D.Install a 3/16" x 2-3/4" Tapcon' stainless steel masonry screw into each of the pre -drilled holes in the window frame. Be sure to remove all liquid by wiping dry or use a clean. squeegee. The vinyl frame may be cleaned as described above. For stubborn dirt, a "non-abrasive" cleaner such as Bon -Ami or Soft Scrub' may be used. DO NOT use solvents such as mineral spirits, toluene, xylene, naphtha or muriatic acid as they can dull the finish, soften the vinyl and/or cause failure of the insulated unit seal.
