This product has been accepted by the Southern Building Code Congress International and is listed in S13CCI Evaluation Report No. 2241. This product type is triple 3" and double 4-1/2" in the Clapboard surface configuration, and double 4-1/2" in the Dutehlap surface configuration. Installations using nails at 3" spacing result in allowable design wind pressures for Clapboard triple 3" of +/- 73.3 psf, Clapboard double 4-1/2" of +/- 64:4 psf, and Dutehlap double 4-1/2" of +/--93.3 psf. Nails are roofing nails1-1/2" long with 1/8" diameter shanks and 3/8" diameter heads. Sheathing must be placed behind the siding, and studs must be at a 16" maximum spacing. If sheathing is not placed behind the siding, all of the above pressures will be 'A of those listed. Installations using staples at 16" spacing result in allowable design wind pressures for Clapboard triple 3" of +/- 44.4 psf, Clapboard double 4.1/2" of +/- 48.9 psf, and Dutch -lap double 4-1/2 of. +/- 73.3 psf . Make sure the panel is securely locked before fastening. Fasten the panels in the center of the nail- ing slots (see page 14 for specific informa- tion on fastening and fasteners). Allowance should be made for expansion and contraction by leaving a 1/4" gap between the siding and all corner posts and channels (increase to 3/8" when installing in temperatures below 40° F. If the panels are 20 feet or longer, increase the gap to 3/8", unless the manufacturer's instruc- tions specify otherwise). M Do not drive the head of the fastener tight- ly against the nail slot. Leave 1/32" between the fastener head and the vinyl (about the thickness of a dime). ® Do not force the panels up or down when fastening. Panel locks should be fully engaged; however, the panels should not be under vertical tension or compression when they are fastened. Figure 36.
