All wood framing shall be fabricated and installed per AITC and TPI and National Design Specifications. for Wood Construction. 2. All Structural Wood Members shall have a Minimum extreme fiber stress bearing (FB) of 1,200 psi. 3. Unless otherwise noted, the following lumber grades shall be used: a. Structural Light Framing Size to be 2" thick x 4" wide No. 2 or better. b. Stud Size to be 2" thick x 4" wide or 2" thick x 6" wide Stud Grade. c. Structural Joists and Planking to be 2" to 4" thick x 8" wide or wider No. 2 or better. d. Light Framing to be 2" thick x 4" wide or wider No. 2 or better. 4. Plywood sheathing shall be APA structural 1 - Group 1 - size and span rating as shown on the construction drawings. 5. All wood members exposed to weather or in contact with masonary concrete or soils shall be Pressure Treated. 6. Contractor shall provide all fastener devices as required by the Pre-Engr. Truss Package. Fastening Devices subject to moisture shall be hot dipped galvanized to ASTM -153-80. 7. All metal connections and fabrications shall comply with AISC Specifications. 8. Solid Block all Joists and Rafters at points of support. 9. Prefabricated Structural Trusses shall comply with NFPA National Design Specifications for Wood Construction and TPI Design Specifications for Metal Plate connected Wood Trusses and AITC 100. 10. All Trusses shall be designed and certified by the Truss Manufacturers Lisc. Engineer and all Floor Joists shall be Designed and Certified by the same Engineer. 11. Contractor shall correlate with Truss/Floor Joist manufacturer to ensure adequate bearings are provided at end reactions of all Girder Trusses. 12. Roof Trusses to be typically 24" O.C.'s unless otherwise noted in Pre -Engineered Truss Package. 13. Floor Joists to be typically 16" O.C.'s unless otherwise noted on Pre -Engineered Truss Package.
