(HGD-LC40) Test Method: ANSI/AAMA/NWWDA 101/LS. 2-9.7, "Voluntary Specifications for Aluminum, Vinyl (PVC), and Wood Windows and Glass Doors. " (HGD-LC40 36" x 80') TEST SPECIMEN DESCRIPTION General: The specimen tested was a combination prime entry door/single hung entry system measuring 37-114" wide by SI" high overall by.2" thick. The active leaf measured 35" wide by 79" high. The active leaf members were separated by a Styrofoam core. The main frame and window: members were not thermally broken. The active leaf stiles and both top and bottont rails measured 4-1 /4" wide. The active leaf corners were mitered construction using four (4) stainless steel rivets and aluminum corner gussets each. The main frame was of double screw butt -type corner construction. An extruded aluminum'threshold was used at the frame bottom with an overall interior vertical height of I" Four (4) 3"x 3" steel butt hinges were used for door leaf operation. Two (2) stainless steel rivets per hinge were used to fasten them to the main. frame. Each, hinge incorporated one (1) (#6 x 1-1 /4') screw to fasten the jamb to the test b►ick. One (1) stainless steel dead bolt was located at 37-1 /2" from the top edge of the lock stile. One (1) cylindrical lock was located at 43" front the top edge of the lock stile. Stainless steel keepers were located at the lock jamb at lock positions. Single Hung General: A Series "3500" single hung window was employed into the active leaf measuring 27-3/4" wide by 60-114" high overall. The active sash daylight opening measured 22" wide by 26" high. The fixed lite daylight opening measured 23-112" wide by 26-112" high. T ;e active sash was removable via a single block and tackle balance located at each jamb. Frp vw d sash members were not thermally broken. Glazing: The fixed lite and active sash were exterior glazed using 0.125" Tempered glass with an adhesive back -bedding and an aluminum glazing bead. Weatherseals: A single strip of bulb vinyl weatherstrip was located at each doorframe member. A single strip of center fin weatherstrip (0.360" high) was located at each active leaf stile and top rail. A single strip of polypile weatherstrip (0.120" high) was located at each aluminum jamb liner. A single strip of center fin weatherstrip (0.300" high) was located at the single hung sill. Double strips of center fin weatherstrip (0.210" high) were located at the active sash -meeting rail. Detailed drawings were available for laboratory records and compared to the test specimen at the time of this report. A copy of this report along with representative sections of the test specimen will be retained by NCTL for a period of four (4) years. The results obtained apply only to the specimen tested.
