As requested, Mr. Ronald D. Devlen, PE visited the subject site to observe the condition of the wood headers
over the front and rear second floor windows.
DESCRIPTION
The wood headers are typically double 2x4 spanning over the top of the second floor windows within the
front and rear walls.
OBSERVATIONS
Mr. Ronald D. Devlen, PE, of our office visited the subject location and made the following observations

Time: 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm
Weather: Clear, nice day
Access Methods: Walking, interior and exterior
This site visit focused on observing the existing double 2x4 wood headers over the second floor front and
rear wall windows. These wood headers are supported by 2x4 wood stud jambs. The widths of window
openings are less than six (6) feet.
RECOMMENDATIONS
The wood headers are located within a non -load bearing exterior wall. These double 2x4 headers are
adequate to support the window frames for applied wind loads.
