The following Alside Vinyl siding product; Conquest has been tested and analyzed in
conformance with ASTM D 3679 as required by Florida Building Code 2001, paragraph
1403.9.1. This product has been accepted by the Southern Building Code Congress
International and is listed in SBCCI Evaluation Report No. 2241. This product type is
triple 3" and double 4-1/2" in the Clapboard surface configuration, and double 4-1/2" in
the Dutchlap surface configuration.
Installations using nails at 8" spacing result in allowable design wind pressures for
Clapboard triple 3" of +/- 73.3 psf. Clapboard double 4-1/2" of +/- 64.4 psf. and Dutchlap
double 4-1/2" of +/-93.3 psf. Nails are roofing nailsl-1/2" long with 1/8" diameter
shanks and 3/8" diameter heads. Sheathing must be placed behind the siding. and studs
must be at a 16" maximum spacing. If sheathing is not placed behind the siding, all of
the above pressures will be'Aof those listed.
Installations using staples at 16" spacing result in allowable design wind pressures for
Clapboard triple 3" of +/- 44.4 psf, Clapboard double 4-1/2" of +/- 48.9 psf, and Dutchlap
double 4-1/2" of +/- 73.3 psf . Staples are 1-1/2" long by t/z" wide by 16 Gauge.
Sheathing must be placed behind the siding, and studs must be at a 16" maximum
spacing. If sheathing is not placed behind the siding, all of the above pressures will be 1/2
of those listed.
The above allowable design wind pressures are in conformance with Florida Building
Code 2001. Table 1606.2B. I trust that this information is sufficient for your needs. If

FASFENING
Use aluminum, galvanized steel or other corrosion -resistant nails or staples
when installing vinyl siding. Nail or staple approximately in the center of the
slot — a maximum of 16" for horizontal siding. 12" on center for vertical: 6" to
12" for accessories. NOTE: Check with mantdactuter if studs are 24" on center.
DO NOT NAIL OR STAPLE 1 IGHTI_Y.
The panels should float on the nails or )les to provide for expansion and
contraction. Nail or staple into studs where 6ossible. Be sure the nails -or staples
hold securely. Do not nail at an angle which
can pull the siding up or down.

HAIL SELECTION
Select only corrosion -resistant nails that are long enough to allow for 3/4" pen-
etration into a solid, nailable surface. Nail heads should be s/z" minimum in
diameter. Shanks should be '/o" in diameter. 1Rngth- P/z" for general use, 2"
for residing. 2'/2" minimum for going through siding, with backerboard, and
l " to I'/2" trim nails.
