The specimen tested was a combination prime entry door/single hung entry system ineasuring 37-1 /2" wide by 80-3/4" high overall by 2" thick. The active leaf measured 34-718" wide by 78-314" high. The active leaf members were separatec( by a styrofoam core. The main frame and window members were not thermally broken. The tive leaf stiles and both top and bottom rails measured 4-114" wide. The active leaf corners werb mitered construction using four 4) stainless steel rivets and aluminum corner gussets each. T1ie main frame was of double screw butt -type corner construction. An extruded aluminum threshold•was used at the frame bottom with an overall interior vertical height of I': Four (4) 3" x 3" steel butt hinges were used for door leaf operation. Two (2) stainless steel rivets per hinge were used to fasten them to the main frame. Each hinge incorporated one. (1) (#6x 1-1/4") screw to fasten the jamb to the test buck. One (1) stainless steel dead bolt was located at 37-112" from. the top edge of the -lock stile. One (I) cylindrical lock was located at 43" from the top edge of the lock stile. Stainless steel keepers were located at the lock jamb at lock positions. Single Hung General: A series "3500" single hung window was employed into the active leaf measuring 27- 3/4" wide by 60-1 / 2" high overall. The active sash daylight opening measured 22- 118" wide by 25-7/8" high. The fixed lite daylight opening measured 2.3-1 /2" wide by 26-518" high. The active sash was-remc,vable via a single block and tackle balance located at each jamb. Frame and sash inentbers were not thermally broken. One (1) metal cam -type sweep -lock was located at mid -span of the top rail of the active sash. A sweep lock keeper.'was extruded onto the interior fixed meeting rail. A nylon stile cap was used at the top of each active sash stile. The fixed meeting rail was fastened to each jamb with a single screw. The frame and sash were of double screw coped corner construction. An extruded aluminum jamb liner was snap -fitted t each jamb.
