These are typical anchorage details and are not meant to restrict you to only those types of installations. However, all PGT products must be installed into an approved opening. An approved opening is one that is accepted by your local building authority. It is important to note that the proper fastener be used for each specific application i.e.: masonry fasteners for concreteimasonry openings, wood screws for 2x buck and wood framed openings, and sheet metal screws for aluminum or steel applications. Anchors must be of the sizes (#10, #12, 3/16", etc.) specified in the Dade Product Approvals. Anchorage to different framed openings is acceptable providing the following criteria are met: + ' The appropriate fastener type is used for the type of opening (ie: masonry, wood, sheet metal screw). + If your local building authority requires, there is supporting documentation from a local architect or engineer which shows the shear values of the fasteners into the opening to be at least as high as for the anchorage conditions shown in the Dade Product Approval.
