GENERAL NOTES SYMBOLS SHEET INDEX .
1.. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUPERVISE AND DIRECT ALL WORK,
USING HIS BEST SKILL AND ATTENTION. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL
BE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL CONSTRUCTION MEANS, METHODS,
TECHNIQUES, PROCEDURES AND SEQUENCES FOR COORDINATING
ALL PORTIONS OF THE WORK UNDER THE CONTRACT.
2. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VISIT THE JOB SITE TO REVIEW THE
SCOPE OF WORK AND EXISTING JOB SITE CONDITIONS
INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL
SERVICE, AND OVERALL COORDINATION.
3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY ALL EXISTING CONDITIONS
AND DIMENSIONS PRIOR TO SUBMITTING HIS BID. ANY
DISCREPANCIES, CONFLICTS OR OMISSIONS, ETC. SHALL BE
REPORTED BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH THE WORK.
4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROTECT ALL AREAS FROM DAMAGE
WHICH MAY OCCUR DURING CONSTRUCTION. ANY DAMAGE TO
NEW AND EXISTING CONSTRUCTION, STRUCTURE, OR EQUIPMENT,
SHALL BE IMMEDIATELY REPAIRED OR REPLACED TO THE
SATISFACTION OF THE TENANT OR BUILDING OWNER, OR
OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE, AT THE EXPENSE OF THE
CONTRACTOR.
5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR, AND SHALL
REPLACE OR REMEDY, ANY FAULTY, IMPROPER, OR INFERIOR
MATERIALS OR WORKMANSHIP OR ANY DAMAGE WHICH SHALL
APPEAR WITHIN ONE YEAR AFTER THE COMPLETION AND
ACCEPTANCE OF THE WORK UNDER THIS CONTRACT.
6. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE ALL RUBBISH AND WASTE
MATERIALS ON A REGULAR BASIS, AND SHALL EXERCISE
STRICT CONTROL OVER JOB CLEANING THROUGHOUT
CONSTRUCTION, INCLUDING FINAL CLEAN-UP UPON COMPLETION
OF WORK. ALL AREAS ARE TO BE LEFT IN A BROOM CLEAN
CONDITION AT THE END OF EACH DAY.
7. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SAFEGUARD THE SITE OWNER'S PROPERTY
DURING CONSTRUCTION AND SHALL REPLACE ANY DAMAGED
PROPERTY OF THE OWNER TO ORIGINAL CONDITION OR BETTER.
8. IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE GENERAL CON-
TRACTOR TO LOCATE ALL EXISTING UTILITIES. WHETHER SHOWN
HEREON OR NOT, AND TO PROTECT THEM FROM DAMAGE.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BEAR ALL EXPENSES FOR REPAIR
OR REPLACEMENT OF UTILITIES OR OTHER PROPERTY DAMAGED
IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE EXECUTION OF WORK.
9. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COMPLETE
SECURITY OF THE SITE WHILE THE JOB IS IN PROGRESS AND
UNTIL THE JOB IS COMPLETED.
10. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE TEMPORARY WATER, POWER
AND TOILET FACILITIES AS REQUIRED BY THE CITY OR
GOVERNING AGENCY.
11. ALL CONSTRUCTION WORK SHALL CONFORM TO THE 2001
FLORIDA BUILDING CODE AND ALL OTHER GOVERNING BUILDING
CODES. THE MOST RESTRICTIVE CODES WILL GOVERN.
12. THE CONTRACTOR AND ALL SUBCONTRACTORS SHALL COMPLY
WITH ALL LOCAL CODE REGULATIONS AND STATE DEPARTMENT
OF INDUSTRIAL REGULATIONS AND DIVISION OF INDUSTRIAL
SAFETY (OSHA) REQUIREMENTS. REFER TO THE CODES SECTION
OF THIS SHEET.
13. FIGURED DIMENSIONS HAVE PRECEDENCE OVER DRAWING SCALE,
AND DETAIL DRAWINGS HAVE PRECEDENCE OVER SMALL
SCALE DRAWINGS. CHECK ACCURACY OF ALL DIMENSIONS IN
THE FIELD. UNLESS SPECIFICALLY NOTED, DO NOT FABRICATE
ANY MATERIALS OFF-SITE, OR DO ANY CONSTRUCTION
UNTIL THE ACCURACY OF DRAWING DIMENSIONS KAS BEEN
VERIFIED AGAINST ACTUAL FIELD DIMENSIONS.
14. CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE ARCHITECT OF ANY CONFLICTS
OR DISCREPANCIES WITHIN THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS WITH THE
CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND THE FIELD CONDITIONS PRIOR TO
EXECUTING THE WORK IN QUESTION.
15. CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE ARCHITECT IF DETAILS ARE
CONSIDERED UNSOUND, UNSAFE, NOT WATERPROOF, OR NOT
WITHIN CUSTOMARY TRADE PRACTICE. IF WORK IS PERFORMED.
IT WILL BE ASSUMED THAT THERE IS NO OBJECTION TO THE
DETAIL. DETAILS ARE INTENDED TO SHOW THE END RESULT OF
THE DESIGN. MINOR MODIFICATIONS MAY BE REQUIRED TO SUIT
JOB CONDITIONS, AND SHALL BE INCLUDED AS PART OF THE
WORK.
16. CONTRACTOR TO FIELD VERIFY ALL MEASUREMENTS PRIOR
TO CONSTRUCTION. ALL MEASUREMENTS ARE ASSUMED
TO BE ACCURATE WITHIN REASON. NO PROFESSIONAL
SURVEY WAS MADE OF THE PROPERTY FOR THIS PROJECT.
THE CLIENT ASSUMES LIABILITY FOR INACCURACIES DUE
TO THE LACK OF SURVEY AND STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS.
17. ALL SYMBOLS AND ABBREVIATIONS USED ON THE DRAWINGS
ARE CONSIDERED CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS. IF THE CON-

ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATIONS
1. SCOPE: Provide labor, materials, and equipment, etc., required to complete the installation
shown on the drawings.
2. CODES AND STANDARDS: Installation shall comply with applicable lows and ordinances,
utility company regulations and applicable requirements of latest editions of:
a. NFC - National Fire Codes
b. UL - Underwriters Laboratories
C. NEC - National Electrical Code
d. NEMA - National Electrical Manufacturers Association
e. OSHA - Occupational Safety and Health Act
f. FBC - 2001 Florida Building Code
3. PERMITS: Obtain and pay for required permits, licenses, fees, inspections, etc.
4. COORDINATION: Coordinate work with other trades. -
5. SUBMITTALS: Submit brochures for approval on service disconnecting means and other major system
components.
6. EXISTING SERVICES: Do not interrupt existing services without written permission of the
Owner.
7. EQUIPMENT: Connect electrically operated equipment.
8. RECORD DRAWINGS: Maintain o record of all changes, substitutions between work as specified
and installed. Record changes on a clean set of contract documents which shall be turned over
to the Owner upon completion of the project.
9. IDENTIFICATION: ,Identify service disconnecting means with permanent nameplate.
10. GUARANTEE/WARRANTY: Guarantee installation to be free of defects, shorts, grounds, etc.,
for o period of one year. Furnish warranty so the defective materials and/or workmanship will
be repaired/replaced immediately upon notification at no cost to the Owner for period of worronty.
11. CUTTING AND PATCHING: Provide cutting required to do the work. Do not cut major
structural elements wi)hout approval. Patching shall be of quality equal to and of matching
appearance of existing construction.
12. TRENCHING AND BACKFILL: Provide for oil underground installed conduit and/or cables.
13. RACEWAYS: Underground conduit shall be Schedule 40 PVC conduit (meet NEMA TC2 - 1990),
except power service conduit, which shall be torcoated and grounded rigid
galvanized steel grounded at both ends. Exposed conduit shall be rigid galvanized steel conduits,
except conduits for grounding, which shall be PVC. Underground PVC conduit shall transition to rigid
golvonized steel conduit before rising above grade. Plug and cop each of spare and empty conduits
and provide pull string - 200 Ib. test polyethylene cord. All conduit bends shall be o minimum of 24"
radius. GRS conduits when specified, shall meet UL -6 for galvanized steel. All fittings shall be suitable
and clamps. Do not use perforated strops or tie wires. One -hole strops shall not be used for conduit
larger than 3/4'. Use conduit seals for conduits penetrating building walls below grade.
14. SUPPORTS: As required by the NEC.
15. CONDUCTORS: Use 98% conductivity copper with type XHHW-2 insulation, 600 volt, color
coded. Use solid conductors for wire up to and including No. 8 AWG. Use stranded
conductors for wire above No. 8 AWG.
16. ENCLOSURES: Wet Locations or Outdoor - NEMA 3R
Dry Locations or Indoor - NEMA 1
17. CONNECTORS FOR POWER CONDUCTORS: Use pressure type insulated twist -on connectors
for #10 AWG and smaller. Use solderless mechanical terminal lugs for /8 AWG and larger.
18. SERVICE: 240/12OV, single phase, 3 wire connection available from Utility Company.
Coordinate and pay all fees.
19. TELEPHONE SERVICE: Provide empty conduits with pull wires as indicated on drawings.
20. LABELS: Label meter can and disconnect with block plastic label with white letters.
Label should read "voicestreom wireless and site address. Labels should be offixed in
accordance with loco] utility guidelines.
