A1VIENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1019 OF THE CITY OF SANFORDo
FLORIDA~ WHICH SAID ORDINANCE ADOPTED AtVfEND1VIENTS
TO THE SOUTHERLY STANDARD HOUSING CODE~ 1971 REVISION
TO 1969 EDITION, PREPARED BY THE SOUTI-rE RN HOUSING
CODE CONGRESS, SAID A1ViEND1ViENT PROVIDING FOR THE
ADDITION OF A SECTION TO ENABLE THE CITY OF SANFORD,
FLORIDA TO REMOVE DEBRIS FROM PRIVATE PROPERTY.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD~ FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That the requirements of Section 306.4 of the Southern
Standard Housing Code, as amended, and as set forth in Ordinance No. 1019
be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
306.4 - CARE OF PREMISES
(a) It shall be unlawful for the owner or occupant of a
residential building, structure or property to utilize the premises
of such residential property for the open storage of any abandoned
motor vehicle~ ice box, refrigerator, stove, glass, building
material, building rubbish or similar i~ems. It shall be the duty
and responsibility of every such owner or occupant to keep the
premises of such residential proper~y clean and to remove from
the premises all such abandoned items as listed above, including
but not limited to weeds, dead trees~ trash, garbage, etc., upon
notice from the Building Official.
(b) For the purpose of this section, an abandoned motor
vehicle is defined as one that is in a state of disrepair and incapable
of being moved under its own power.
(c) In the event the item to be removed as designated in
the notice is not removed within ten (10) days of the date of receipt
of such notice, the City of Sanford shall have the authority to
remove the item from the property and a statement shall be
submitted to the property owner or occupant for the amount of
the expenses incurred by the City of Sanford in removing such
item. If the statement is not paid within thirty (30) days of the
date of the statement the City of Sanford shall have the right to
file a lien against the property from which the item %Tas~ removed
for the amount of the statement submitted to the property owner
or occupant and said lien shall be valid and in full force and
effect until payment in full.

SECTION 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall become effective immediately
upon its passage and adoption.
