After lengthy discussions, Commissioner Britton approved the deferment of Police Department, Fire Department, and Recreation Impact Fees in the amount of $32K upon receiving a Certificate of Occupancy (CO), the deferment of Water and Sewer Utilities Impact Fees in the amount of $96K, within 18 months or upon receiving a CO, and the deferment of Building Permit Fees in the amount of $49.3K upon receiving a CO, in the total amount not to exceed $180K. Mayor Woodruff said the weekend events for the Martin Luther King, Jr. (MLK) CITY COMMISSION MINUTES =-- I U ULU W.1 1140 131 all 11111 Day celebrations were great. He attended the Peace and Justice Institute's (PJI) Table Talk. There were over 50 people in attendance at Hopper Academy, it was a great event with a good mix of people. The City is going to be starting the Locust Avenue skating event. Training. Commissioner Thomas attended the PJI Table Talk and the Newly Elected Official Commissioner Wiggins commended the MLK Steering Committee and all the great events over the weekend. The Picnic Project fed over 70 families. Commissioner Britton said she is going to be very transparent to the residents of District I as she is working for them. She would like her one-on-one meetings with the City Manager recorded. She inquired about why the wreaths are hanging on the light poles and it is almost February. The roof in City Hall has been foxed for months now. She asked for the big stains on the carpet to be cleaned. She said she has been having pre -meetings with staff, and they have been very helpful. She asked for a special Commission Work Session to have with the merchants downtown. She thanked the MLK Steering Committee for a great job on all the MLK Events. She will be scheduling a meeting with Commissioner Wiggins regarding the Picnic Project.
