Mr. Ping said the City needs better signage to show guests where the
public restrooms are located. Commissioner Britton said the back door to the SIC is very
unattractive. Mr. Ping said it is not very functional as an America with Disabilities
Assistance ramp. Mayor Woodruff suggested Main Street needs to work on funding for
the future.
3. Discussion RF: The City of Sanford's 1501h Anniversary Celebration in 2027.
Commissioner Britton suggested the City contact Brigette Stephenson,
Sanford Museum Curator. Jerry Sullivan, Recreation Manager, said Ms. Stephenson, has
been contacted and has started working on ideas. Some suggestions from the Commission
were: have a parade, golf tournament, have some private organizations contribute to
events, and incorporate the celebration throughout the City's annual events,
4. Discussion RE: City Attorney Vacancy.
Sharon Kraynik, Human Resources and Risk Management Director,
handed out ideas to the Commission to consider when hiring an attorney firm for the
City. She suggested the City hire a firm, as attorneys handle different things. She said the
City does not have post a Request for Qualifications (RFQ), as attorneys are not locked
into purchasing guidelines and the City can just accept applications. She will post the
position on the Florida League of Cities website as well. Ms. Kraynik asked the
Commission to submit their ideas to her by Friday, January 31, 2025. Ms. Kraynik said
the Commission makes the final decision. As the Mayor as the Is' representative of the
