DATA SHARING AGREEMENT
BETWEEN
FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE
AND
CITY OF SANFORD
On February 16, 2022, the State of Florida, Department of Commerce ("Commerce"), formerly the Florida Department
of Economic opportunity (DEO), and City of Sanford (COS) entered into an agreement (the "Agreement") to establish
confidentiality guidelines for Commerce to provide Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW) data,
including confidential Reemployment Assistance (RA) information. The data will be used by the Economic Department
to identify the types of businesses and number of employees in the city and county.
WHEREAS, Section VI, Amendments and Changes, of the Agreement provides that, with limited exceptions, any
change, alteration, deletion, or addition to the terms set forth in this Agreement must be made by written
amendment executed by the Parties' authorized signatories;
WHEREAS, Section XI, Terminations, Extensions, and Amendments, subsection E, of the Agreement provides that,
this Agreement may be renewed in writing for a period that may not exceed three years or the original term of
the agreement, whichever is longer, and is subject to the same terms and conditions set forth in the initial
agreement; and
WHEREAS, the Parties agree to renew this Agreement for three years; and
NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants and obligations set forth herein, the receipt and
sufficiency of which are hereby acknowledged, the Parties agree to the following:
1. On July 1, 2023, the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity was renamed to the Florida Department of
Commerce. Effective July 1, 2023, all references to "Department of Economic Opportunity" or "DEO" are
replaced with "Department of Commerce" or "Commerce" as appropriate.
2. Section III., Term of Agreement, is hereby replaced in its entirety with the following:
This Agreement shall take effect on February 16, 2022, and shall end on February 15, 2028, or until terminated
in accordance with Section XI, Terminations, Extensions, and Amendments, of this Agreement. The obligations
of Sections IV, Inspection of Records, through IX, Liability and Indemnification, shall survive the expiration or
termination of this Agreement.
3. This Agreement is hereby reinstated as though it had not expired
4. All other terms and conditions remain in effect.
