HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-11-2025 WS MinutesCITY COMMISSION MINUTES r 'F AUGUST 11, 2025 WORK SESSION The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Work Session on Monday, August 11, 2025, at 5:00 PM, in the City Commission Chambers, Is` Floor, City Hall, and 300 North Park Avenue, Sanford, Florida. Present: Mayor Art Woodruff Commissioner Kerry Wiggins Commissioner Claudia Thomas City Manager Norton N. Bonaparte, Jr. City Attorney Lindsay Greene City Clerk Traci Houchin Absent: Vice Mayor Patrick Austin Commissioner Sheena Britton Mayor Woodruff called the meeting to order at 5:02 PM Presentation of the City Hall 2nd Floor Renovations by Craig Radzak, Assistant City Manager. Mr. Radzak displayed the renovation plans for the second floor on the projector. He said that back in January, he met with department directors to determine what their needs are for their staff. It was determined that the south side of the building is where most of the needs are. Mr. Radzak said that they considered doing the project in-house, however, after further review, it was determined that a professional with design services would be best. In speaking with some of the department directors, meeting space and storage rooms are a few of the biggest needs. He said that he is hoping for a construction contract in early 2026. The construction should take about eight months and will done in phases. CITY COMMISSION MINUTES AUGUST 11, 2025 WORK SESSION 2. Discussion re: Speaker Identification during Public Comment by Lindsay Greene, City Attorney City Attorney, Lindsay Greene provided follow up to a request by Commissioner Thomas pertaining to personal information that may be required for public comments. Based upon her research, Ms. Greene said that the City has a very good balance in that City asks individuals to state their name and address, but it is not required. 3. City Manager Comments: Mr. Bonaparte reminded the Commission that this morning the Human Resource Director emailed each of them asking that they submit the City Manager Evaluation no later than August 25`h. He said that he will provide them with an update of the goals by August 17`h. Mayor Woodruff suggested that they discuss this tonight as they will have all Commissioners in attendance.
