HomeMy WebLinkAbout531ORDINANCE NO. 5~~ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANEORD, FLORIDA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NUMBER 362 OF THE CITY ~F SANFORD AS A)~NDED, SA~ BEING THE ZOninG OR- DINANCE OF THE CITY OF SA~ORD, BY PROVIDING FOR A THIRTEENTH CLASS OF DISTRICT I~TO ~HZCH SAID CITY IS DIVIDED FOR THE PURPOSES OF $iYID ORDINANCE, DESIGNATING SAID THIRTEENTH CLaS~ OF DISTRICT AS "C-N COi~dERCIAL-RETAIL (NEIGHBOR- HOOD SHOPPING)DISTRICT. BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SA~?ORD, FLO2ID~: Section 1. That Ordinance Number 362 of the City of Sanford, Florida, passed and adopted December 2~, 1944, as amend- ed, said Ordinance being entitled: "An Ordinance establishing a zoning plan within the City of Sanford, creating twelve (12) dis- tricts, regulating and restricting the location and use of build- ings, structures, land and water for trade, industry, r~sidence or other purposes, the height and size of str~ctur~s, and si~;e of open spaces for light and ventilation; adopting a map of said districts; defining terms used; providing for the adjustment, en- forcement and amendment thereof; and pre~cribing penalties for violation"~ be, and the same is hereby,amended ~s follows: (A) The Title of said Ordins~ce is hereby amended to read: "An Ordinance establishing a zoning plan within the City of Sanfor~, creating thirteen (13) districts , regulating a~d re- stricting the location and use of bui]din~s, stract~r~s, l~nd water for trade, industry, residence or other parpo~es, the ]~cizht the height and bulk of buildings; to regulate the area of yards and other open space about buildings; and to regulate the in- tersity of land used~ the City of Saw,ford is hereby divided in- to thirteen (13) cla~ses of districts to be known as follows: R-1 AA - One (single) Family District R-1 A One (single) Family Distr~ct R-l-b - One (single) Family District R-1 - One (single) Family District R-1 X - One (si.~gle)Family District R-2 - Multiple Family District R-3 -.One (single) Family District R-~ - I.~ultiple Family ~istrict R-5 - !dultiple Family District C-1 - Co~m~ercial (retail} District C-2 - Commercial-Industrial District C-T - Transient Commercial District C-N - Commercial-Retail (Nei~jhborhood Shopping) District" (C) A new section ntm~_bered 13B, snd in the following words and figures, is hereby added im~ediately roll',owing Section 13A of said ordinance: SECTION 13B. C-N COi.i~ii~iRCIAL-RETAIL (Neighbor- hood Shopping) District. USES PE~ilTTED. Barber and beauty shops Book,stationery & news shops,news sub-stations Clinics,except animal clin- ics B. SPECIAL RESTRICTIO~S. Restaurants Shoe repair shops Telephone exchange Curb service or car-side service of food or drink for consumption on premises is prohibited in this zone. No bar, cocktail lounge or similar establishment whose principal business is the serving of alcohol- ic beverages on the premises shall be permitted in this zone. All parking areas and drives used by the public shall be surfaced in such a manner as to prevent nuisance from dust and standing water. Where a neighborhood shopping district borders a residential district, walls or vegetative screening shall be provided as necessary to prevent headlights of automobiles or other lights from shining in wind- ows of adjoining residential property. Incandes- cent lighting may be used for illuminating the parking area, advertising signs, or any portion of the property as long as the direct light is not visible to drivers on the hi~ihways, and no red or green illumination shall be permitted within 100 feet of any street intersection. PARKING. There shall be no curb or on-street parking on any main thoroughfare within this zone. No permit shall be issued by the City for construction of any commercial building within this zone until there shall have been provided on the property upon which such building is to be constructed and adjacent to that to be occupied by it accessible parking space not less in area than the space to be occupied by such building. BUILDING HEIGHT LI}~iIT. G. SIDE YARD REQUIRED. No side yard for co~mercial buildings except as parking area above provided shall require. In case of dwellings, the provisions pertinent to the class of dwelling erected shall govern. H. REAR YARD REQUIR~';ENTS. There shall be a rear yard not less than twenty (20) feet in depth. Section 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be, and the same are hereby, repealed. Section 3. That this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 23rd day of November, 1953.
