AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A NEW REVISION AND
CODIFICATION OF THE ORDINANCES OF THE CI-
TY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR THE
REPEAL OF CERTAIN ORDINANCES NOT INCLUDED
THEREIN, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES HEREINAF-
TER SET FORTH.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Sanford
has caused its ordinances of a general and permanent nature to
be compiled and revised and the same are embodied in a compil-
ation and revision thereof known as "The Code of the City of
Sanford, Florida, 1954",
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE
CITY OF SAi~FORD, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the ordinances of the City of Sanford,
of a general and permanent nature, as codified, are ordained as
general ordinances and are adopted as "The Code of the City of
Sanford, Florida, 1954".
Section 2. That all the provisions of "The Code of
the City of Sanford, Florida, 1954", shall be in force and ef-
fect on and after the 15th day of July, 1954, and all ordinances
of a general and permanent nature, adopted by the City Commission
in force on ~arch ~, 1954, and not contained in "The Code of the
City of Sanford, Florida, 1954" are hereby repealed from and af-
ter the 15th day of July, 1954, except as hereinafter provided.
Section 3. That the repeal provided for in the pre-
ceding section of this ordinance shall not affect any offense
or act committed or done or any penalty or forfeiture incurred
or any contract or right established or accruing before the 15th
day of July, 1954, nor shall such repeal affect any ordinance
evidence of said City's indebtedness, or any contract or obli-
gation assu~ed by said City; nor shall said repeal affect the
administrative ordinances or resolutions of the Commission not
in conflict or inconsistent with the provisions of the Code;
nor shall it affect any right or franchise conferred by any ord-
inance or resolution of the Commission on any person or corpor-
ation; nor shall it affect the an~ual appropriation ordinance;
nor shall it affect any ordinance fixing salaries of city offi-
cers and employees; nor shall it affect the Building Code and
amendments thereto; nor shall it affect the Zoning Ordinance and
amendments thereto; nor shall it affoct any prosecution, suit
or other proceeding pending, or any judgment rendered on or pri-
or to the 15th day of July, 195&; nor shall it affect any ord-
inance of the City adopted on final passage since the fourth day
of March, 1954. ~
Section 4. That a copy of "The Code of the City of
Sanford, Florida, 1954", be filed in the office of the City ~lerk.
Section 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith be, and the same are hereby, repealed.
Section 6. That this ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and adoption.
