OWNER OR KEEPER~OF SUCH HORSE, COW OR
OTHER GRAZING ANIMAL, AS HEREIN PRO-
VIDED, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE
VIOLATION OF THI~ ~ ........

SAID CITY ON THE 28TH DAY OF MARCH, 1939.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That Section i of Ordinance No. 281
of the City of Sanford, Florida, passed and adopted by
the City Commission of Sanford, Florida, on March 28, 1939,
relating to the keeping of horses, cows, and other graz-
ing animals is amended to read as follows:
"Section 1. No person, firm or corporation
shall hereafter keep or maintain any horses, mules, cows,
or other grazing animals on any land within the City of
Sanford without first obtaining a permit from the Sani-
tary Officer of the City of Sanford. Said permit shall be
granted subject to the applicant for said permit meeting
the following specifications:
A. To maintain or keep one cow or one horse or one
mule, the applicant must have at least
lO,O00 square feet of real property for
one animal and 5.000 ~n,,~ ~ .....
tional animal. No enclosure, pen
or shelter structure for any cow,
horse or mule shall be nearer than
100 feet to a dwelling other than
that of the apPlicant, nor within
35 feet of the curb line of any
city street, or, where a sidewalk
exists,within 25 feet of the off-
street side of such sidewalk.
B. All pens, enclosures and shel-
ter structures wherein animals
are kept under this ordinance shall
be kept in a sanitary condition,
and the bedding offal, manure, and
waste materials accumulating from
such animals shall be removed or
disposed of in a sanitary manner
at least once every seven days;
and all such pens, enclosures and
shelter structures shall, at all
times be kept clean or disinfected
so as to prevent the breeding of
flies and other bacteria-carrying
insects, and the emission of delet-
erious and offensive odors there-
from. It is the duty of the Sani-
tary Officer to enforce the n~n_
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinanc-
es in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall become effec-
rive ~mmediately upon its passage and adoption.
