AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD,
FLORIDA, DETE]{MINING THE M~IOUNT AND
FIXING THE RATE OF TAXATION AND MAKING
THE ANNUAL TAX LEVY OF THE CITY OF
SANFORD, FLORIDA, FOR THE YEAR 1954.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFfRD, FLGIIDA:
SECTION 1. That the amount determined necessary
to be raised by taxation in the City of Sanford, Florida,
for the year 1954 for the ordinary purposes of the Munici-
pality and the Department of Debt Service is the sum of
$242,088.20.
SECTION 2. That the millage for the year 1954 to
be assessed upon each dollar of the assessed valuation of
all the taxable property, except Homesteads to the assessed
value of $5,000.00 or less, within the corporate limits of
the City of Sanford, Florida, is hereby fixed at 13.5000
mills, to be allocated as follows:
Department of General Government 7.5000 mills
Department of Debt Service 6.0000 mills
SECTION 3. That the millage for the year 1954 to
be assessed upon each dollar of the assessed valuation of all
Homesteads to the assessed value of $5,000.00 or less within
the corporate limits of the City of Sanford, Florida, is
hereby fixed at 6.0000 mills, to be allocated as follows:
Department of Debt Service 6.O000 mills
SECTION 4. That there shall be and is hereby lev-
ied for the year 1954 upon each dollar of the assessed val-
uation of all taxable property, except Homesteads to the as-
messed value of $5,000.00 or less, within the corporate lim-
fray the necessary ordinary running and operating expenses of
the City of Sanford, Florida, for the fiscal year beginuing
October l, 1954, and ending September 30, 1955.
SECTION 5. That there shall be and is hereby lev-
ied for the year 1954 upon each dollar of the assessed val-
uation of all taxable property within the corporate limits
of the City of Sanford, Florida, a tax of 5.4010 mills for the
purpose of realizing a sum sufficient to pay interest coupons
maturing ~arch l, 1955, and September l, 1955, on Refunding
Bonds Series A, of the City of Sanford, Florida, dated ~rch
l, 1937, and maturing September l, 1977, and to create a Sink-
ing Fund for the purchase or acquiring of bonds of said Ser-
ies A; a tax of .4999 mills for the purpose of realizing a sum
sufficient to pay interest coupons maturing ~arch l, 1955,
and September l, 1955, on Refunding Bonds Series C, D, and E
of the City of Sanford, Florida, dated March i , 19~l, and ma-
turing September l, 1977, and to create a Sinking Fund for
the purchase or acquiring of bonds of said Series C, D, and
E; and a tax of .O991 mills for the purpose of realizing a sum
sufficient to pay outstanding notes, contracts and interest
thereon maturing during current fiscal year.
SECTION 6. That all ordinances or parts of ordin-
ances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 7. That this ordinance shall be come effec-
tive immediately upon its passage and adoption.
