AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 4 OF THE CODE
OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, 1954, BY ADD-
ING A NEW SECTION TO BE NUMBERED 4~7A, SAID SEC-
TION MAKING POSSESSION OR SALE OF MASH, WORT,
WASH, OR ANY ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE~ UNLESS MANU-
FACTURED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REGULATORY
PROVISIONS OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA A CRI2VIE, AND
PROVIDING PENALTIES THEREFOR.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF
SANFORD, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 4 of the Code of the City of Sanford,
Florida, 1954, be and the same is hereby amended by addition thereto
of a new section numbered Section 4-7A, such section being in the follow-
ing words and figures:
SECTION 4~7A.
(1) It is unlawful for any person to own or possess within
the City of Sanford, Florida, any mash, wort, wash, or any bever-
age commonly known as moonshine whiskey, or any alcoholic bever-
age, unless the same shall have been made or manufactured in
accordance with the regulatory provisions of the laws of the State
of Florida.
(2) The possession within the City of Sanford, Florida,
by any person of any mash, wort, wash, or any beverage commonly
known as moonshine whiskey shall be prima facie evidence that the
same was not made or manufactured in accordance with the regu-
latory provisions of the laws of the State of Florida pertaining
thereto.
(4) Any person violating any provisions of this section
shall upon conviction thereof be punished by a fine not to exceed
Two Hundred Dollars ($200), or by imprisonment in the City Jail
for not more than ninety (90) days or both.
SECTION 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be, and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall become effective immediately
upon its passage and adoption.
