AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD,
FLORIDA ESTABLISHING A PROCEDURE FOR
THE VACATING AND ABANDONING OF ROADS~
STREETS~ ALLEYS AND EASEMENTS IN THE
CITY OF SANFORD~ FLORIDA AND PROVIDING
FEES THEREFOR
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: Any person or persons or body corporate desiring
the abandonment or vacating of any road, street, alley or easement
within the corporate limits of the City of Sanford, Florida, shall file
a re:Nest Cor such abandoament and/or vacating with the City Manager
of the City of Sanford, Florida, stating therein a description of the road,
street, alley or easement to be abandoned and depositing therewith the sum
of Twenty-five Dollars ($25) to cover the costs of procedure. The City
Commission, upon such request, may adopt a resolution declaring that,
at a definite time and place, a public hearing will be held to consider the
advisability of such ~bandonment. Before any such road, street, ease-
ment or alley shall be closed and vacated, or before any right or interest
o~: the City or public in any land delineated on any recorded map or plat
as a road, street, alley or easement shall be :~eaounced and disclaimed,
the City Commission shall hold a public hearing, and shall publish notice
thereof, one time, in a newspaper of general circulation in such city at
least two weeks prior to the date stated therein for such hearing. After
such public hearing, any action of the City Commission, as herein author-
ized, shall be evidenced by an ordinance duly adopted and entered upon the
minutes of the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida. Notice

newspaper of general circulation published in the City. The proof of
publication of notice of public hearing, the ordinance as adopted, and
the proof of publication of the notice of the adoption of such ordinance
shall be recorded in the deed records of the county.
SECTION 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall become effective immediately
upon its passage and adoption.
