HomeMy WebLinkAbout459ORDINANCE N0* 459 FLORIDA: AN ORDINANCE 0F TEE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, DETERMINING THE AMOUNT AND FIXING THE RATE OF TAXATION AND MAKING THE ANNUAL TAX LEVY OF THE CITY 0F SAN'FORD, FLORIDA, FOR THE YEAR 1949, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, Section le That the amount determined necessary to be raised by taxation in the City of Sanford, Florida, for the yea~ 1949, for the ordinary purposes of the Municipality and the Department of Debt Service is the sum of Section 2. That the millage for the year 1949 to be assessed upon each dollar of the assessed valuation of all of the taxable property, except Homesteads to the assessed value of $§,000.00 or less, within the corporate limits of the City of Sanford, Florida, is hereby fixed at 21.0000 mills, to be allocated as follows: Department of General Government 11.§000 mills Department of Debt Service 9.5000 mills Section 3. That the Millage for the year 19A9 to be assessed upon each dollar of the assessed valuation of all Homesteads to the assessed value of $5,000.00 or less within the corporate limits of the City of Sanford, Florida, is hereby fixed at 9.5000 mills, to be allocated as Department of Debt Service Section 4. That there shall be for the year 1949 upon each dollar of the follows: 9.5000 mills ad is hereby levied assessed valuation of all taxable property, except Homesteads to the assessed value of $5,000~00 or less, within the corporate limits of the City of Sanford, Florida, a tax of 11.5000 mills for the purpose of real- izing a sum sufficient to meet and defray the necessary ordinary running and operating expenses of the City of Sanford, Florida, for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 1949, and ending ~ept- ember 30, 1980. Section 8. That there shall be and is hereby levied for the year 1949 upon each dollar of the assessed valuation of all taxable property within the corporate limits of the City of Sanford, Florida, a tax of ?.4849 mills for the purpose of realizing a sum sufficient to pay interest coupons matuming March 1, 1980, and September 1, 1980, on Refunding Bonds ~eries A~ of the City of Sanford, Florida, dated March 1, 1937, and maturing September l, 1977, and to create a Sinking ~und for the purchase or acquiring of bonds of said Series A; a tax of mills for the purpose of realizing a sum sufficient to pay in- terest coupons maturing March l, 1980, and September l, 1980, on Refunding Bonds Series C, D & E, of the City of Sanford, Florida, dated Marchl,1941, and maturing ~eptember l, 1977, and to create a Sinking ~und for the purchase or acquiring of bonds of said Series C, D a~l E; and a tax of 1.2198 mills for the purpose of realizing a sum sufficient to pay outstanding notes, contracts and interest thereon maturing during current fiscal year. Section 8. That all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. Section V. That this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED and ADOPTED this 26th day of September 1949.
