AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 24, RELATING TO
THE COLLECTION AND DISPOSITION OF G~RAGE, PASSED
AND ADOPTED JD'LY 25, 1921, BY ADDL~G ~ERET0 A PRO-
VISION FOR SPECIAL PICK-UP SERVICE IN CERTAIN CASES
AND TH~ FEE TO BE PAID FOR SUCH SERVICE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SA~FORD, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 24, relating to the collec-
tion and disposition of garbage, passed and adopted ~uly 25, 1921,
be and the same is hereby amended by insertion therein immediately
following Section i of a new section number 1.5, as follows:
SECTION 1.5. (a) Whe~ no public alley adjoins
the premises occupied by the party offering garbage
or refuse for collection, such party, in lieu of
placing the receptacle for collection at the curb
line in front of his premises as above provided,
may obtain pick-up service for such receptacle from
the rear of his premises upon payment of a fee
therefor. Such fee shall be at the rate of $1.00
per month end shall be paid in advance on or be-
fore December 31st each year for the entire ensuing calen-
dar year, provided that if commencement of such
service be desired after the first of JanUary in
any calendar year only the pro-rata charge for
the remainder of that calendar year shall be so
paid. Payment shall be made to the Tax Collector
of the City of Sanford, Florida, who shall depos-
it ell such funds to the General Revenues of the
City of Sanford,Florida, to be used for the pur-
poses of the Garbage & Trash Department. The fee
herein provided for pick-up service shall be pay_
able for each single-family dwelling unit on the
premises requiring such service, and shall be
paid by the occupant of such dwelling unit.
(b) The pick-up service herein provided is
hereby declared to be a special service offered
solely for dwelling units and to be rendered by
the City only after payment of the fee above
specified for such service. In the absence of
such Payment, the~e shall be no duty on the Ci-
ty to collect garbage or refuse Offered for col-
lection elsewhere than as specified in Section
1 of this Ordinance.
(c) The terms of this section shall ap-
ply to all collections of garbage and refuse in
the City of Sanford, Florida, on and after Dec-
ember l, 1952.
SECTION 2. Tha~ all ordinances or parts of
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTIG~ 3. That this ordinance shall become
mediately upon its passage and adoption.
