HomeMy WebLinkAbout976ORDINANCE NO. 996 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, DETERMINING THE AMOUNT AND FIXING THE RATE OF TAXATION AND MAKING THE ANNUAL TAX LEVY OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1969-1970. BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That the amount determined necessary to be raised by taxation in the City of Sanford, Florida, for the year 1969-1970 for the ordinary purposes of the Municipality and the Department of Debt Service is the sum of ~ 744,899.00. SECTION 2. That the millage for the year 1969-1970 to be assessed upon each dollar of the assessed valuation of all the taxable property, except homesteads to the assessed value of $5,000.00 or less, within the corporate limits of the City of Sanford, Florida, is hereby fixed at 16 mills, to be allocated as follows: Department of General Government, 11.5 mills, Depart- ment of Debt Service, 4.5 mills. SECTION 3. That the millage for the year 1969-1970 to be assessed upon each dollar of the assessed valuation of all home- Steads to assessed value of $5,000.00 or less within the corporate limits of the City of Sanford, Florida, is hereby fixed at 4.5 mills to be allocated as follows: Department of Debt Service 4.5 mills. SECTION 4. That there shall be and is hereby levied for the year 1969-1970 upon each dollar of the assessed valuation of all taxable property, except homesteads to the assessed value of $5,000.00 or less~ within the corporate limits of the City of Sanford, Florida, a tax of 11.5 mills for the purpose of realiz- ing a sum sufficient to meet and defray the necessary and ordinary running and Operating expenses of the City of Sanford, Florida, for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 1969, and ending September 30, 1970. SECTION 5. That there shall be and is hereby levied for the year 1969-1970 upon each dollar of the assessed valuation of all taxable property within the corporate limits of the City of Sanford, Florida, a tax of 4.290 mills for the purpose of realiz- ing a sum sufficient to pay interest coupons maturing March 1, 1970, and September 1, 1970, on refunding bonds Series A, of the City of Sanford, Florida, dated March 1, 1937 and maturing Sep- tember 1, 1977, and to create a sinking fund for the purpose of acquiring of bonds of said Series A; a tax of .210 mills for the purpose of realizing a sum sufficient to pay interest COUpons maturing March 1, 1970, and September 1, 1970, on refunding bonds Series C, D and E of the City of Sanford, Florida, dated March 1, 1941 and maturing September 1, 1977, and to create a sinking fund for the purpose of acquiring of bonds of said Series C, D and E.
