AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD,
FLORIDA AMENDING SECTION 19-42 CHAPTER
19, THE CODE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD,
FLORIDA, 1954, SAID SECTION PROVIDING FOR
DRAINAGE OF ROOFS, PAVED AREAS, YARDS,
COURTS AND COURTYARDS, SAID AMENDMENT
PROHIBITING DRAINAGE OF GROUND WATER
INTO STREET GUTTERS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF TIlE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: S~.ction 19-42, chapter 19, The Code of the City
of Sanfc, rd, Florida, providing ior drainage of roofs, paved areas, yards,
courts and courtyards, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 19-42. Drainage oi' roofs, paved areas, yards, etc.
Roofs, paved areas, yards co~rrts and courtyards may be drained
into the storm-water sewerage system or the combined sewerage
systems, but not into sewers intended ior sewage only. When
drains used for this purpose are connected with the combined
sewerage systems, they shall be effectually trapped. One trap
may serve for all such connections. Where there is lie sewer
aecessible, such connections may be discharged into a public
gutter; and ill such Case need not be trapped. Provided, how-
ever, drainage of ground water into street gutters is prohibited."
SECTION 2: All ordinances or parts o~' ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall become effective immediately
n~0on its passage and adoption.
