HomeMy WebLinkAbout678ORDINANCE NO. 678 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA ANNEXING TO AND INCLUDING WITHIN THE CORPORATE AREA OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, THE AREA KNOWN AS PINECREST HEIGHTS REPLAT, ACCORDING TO THE PUBLIC RECORDS OF SEMINOLE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREINAFTER; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE FOR SAID ANNEXATION AND FOR THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES FOR CITIZENSHIP IN THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA. WHEREAS, there have been filed with the City Clerk of the City of Sanford, Florida, fifteen (15) petitions containing the names of fifty-eight (58) property owners in the area known as Pinecrest Heights Replat, Seminole County, Florida, according to the Public Records thereof, requesting annexation to the corporate area of the City of Sanford, Florida and requesting to be included therein, and WHEREAS, said petitions were duly certified to the tax assessor of Seminole County, Florida, pursuant to Chapter 57-1815, Laws of Florida, Acts of ~'957, and the certification of the tax assessor of Seminole County, Florida as to the sufficiency of such petitions pur- suant to the terms of said Act received, and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida has deemed it in the best interest of the City to accept said petitions and to annex said area, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA: SECTION t. That that certain area known as Pinecrest Heights Replat, according to the Public Records of Seminole County, Florida, and more particularly described as follows, to-wit: Beginning at the intersection of the easterly right-of-way line of Orlando Drive with the center line of 26th Street, Sanford, Seminole County, Florida, run thence south- westerly along said easterly right-of-way line of Orlando Drive to its intersection with the center line of 27th Street, thence easterly along the center line of 27th Street to its intersection with the center line of Elm Avenue, thence northerly along the center line of Elm Avenue to its intersection with the present city limits of Sanford, Florida, thence westerly along said city limits to point of beginning. be and the same is hereby annexed to and made a part of the City of Sanford, Florida pursuant to the terms of Chapter 57-1815, Laws of Florida, Acts of 1957. SECTION 2. That upon this Ordinance becoming effective, the residents and property owners in the above-described annexed area shall be entitled to all of the rights and privileges and immunities as are from time to time granted to residents and property owa~ers of the City of Sanford, Florida, and as are further provided in Chapter 57-1815, Laws of Florida, Acts of 1957, and simll further be subject to the responsibilities of residency or ownership as may be from time to time determined by the governing authority of the City of Sanford, Florida, and the provisions of said Chapter 57-1815, Laws of Florida, Acts of 1957. SECTION 3. That this Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of July(, A.D.
