HomeMy WebLinkAbout679 ORDINANCE NO._ 679 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA ANNEXING TO AND INCLUDING WITHIN THE CORPORATE AREA OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, THE AREA KNOWN AS A PORTION OF FRANK L. WOODRUFF'S SUBDIVISION, ACCORDING TO THE PUBLIC RECORDS OF SEMINOLE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREINAFTER; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE FOR SAID ANNEXATION AND FOR THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES FOR CITIZENSHIP IN THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA. WHEREAS, there has been filed with the City Clerk of the City of Sanford, Florida, one (1) petition containing the names of twelve (12) property owners in the area known as a portion of Frank L. Woodruff's Subdivision, Seminole County, Florida, according to the P~blic Records thereof, requesting annexation to the corporate area of the City of Sanford, Florida and requesting to be included therein, and WHEREAS, said petition was duly certified to the tax assessor of Seminole County, Florida, pursuant to Chapter 57-1815, Laws of Florida, Acts of 1957, and the certification of the tax assessor of Seminole County, Florida as to the sufficiency of such petition pur- suant to the terms of said Act received, and WHEREAS, th e City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida has deemed it in the best interest of the City to accept said petitions and to amlex said area, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That that certain area known asa portion of Frank L. Woodruff's Subdivision, according to the Public Records of Seminole County, Florida, and mote particularly described as follows, to-wit: Starting at the intersection of the center line of 26th Street and the center line of Elm Avenue, thence running easterly along the center line of 26th Street to the center line of the North-South alley between Elm Avenue and Myrtle Avenue, thence running southerly along said center line of the alley to the center line of 27th Street, thence running westerly along said center line of 27th Street to the center line of Elm Avenue and thence running northerly along said center line of Elm Avenue to the point of beginning. be and the same is hereby annexed to and made a part of the City of Sanford, Florida pursuant to the terms of Chapter 57-1815, Laws of Florida, Acts of 1957. SECTION 2. That upon this Ordinance becoming effective, the residents and property owners in the above-described annexed area shall be entitled to all of the rights and privileges and immunities as are from time to time granted to residents and property ovaaers of the City of Sanford, Florida, and as are further prOvided in Chapter 57-1815, Laws of Florida, Acts of 1957, and shall further be subject to the responsibilities of residency or ownership as may be from time to time determined by the governing authority of the City o£ Sanford, Flor/da, and the provisions of said Chapter 57-1815, Laws of Florida, Acts of 1957. SECTION 3. That this Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. 2 PASSED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of July, A.D. 1959. 3 I, H. N.
