HomeMy WebLinkAbout699ORDINANCE NO. 699 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, PROHIBITING VEHICULAR TRUCK TRAFFIC BETWEEN 24TH AND 25TH STREETS IN THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, AND PROVIDING EXCEPTIONS THERETO AND PRO- VIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION. WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida has deemed that the operation of vehicular trucks for pur- poses other than residential delivery services between 24th Street and 25th Street on Oak Avenue in the City of Sanford, Florida, has created a hazard endangering the health and safety of the residents adjacent to said street, now therefore BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That all vehicular truck traffic on Oak Avenue in the City of Sanford, Florida between 24th Street and 25th Street, be and the same is hereby prohibited, provided however, this pro- hibition shall not extend to delivery truck traffic necessary to service residences within said area. SECTION 2. Violation of the provisions of this ordinance shall be punished by a fine not exceeding Two Hundred and 00/100 Dollars ($200.00) or by imprisonment for a term not to exceed ninety (90) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, be, and the same are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 9th clay of November, A.D. 1959.
