HomeMy WebLinkAbout710ORDINANCE NO. 710 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA AMENDING CHAPTER 11, THE CODE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA 1954, SECTION 11.13 THEREOF, SUCH SECTION IMPOSING A FEE FOR THE COLLECTION OF REFUSE, AS DEFINED THEREIN, PRESCRIBING THE AMOUNT OF SUCH FEE AND DEFINING USEAGES UPON WHICH SAID FEE IS BASED, AND PROVIDING FOR THE METHODS OF BILLING FOR THE SAME, AND PENALTY FOR FAILURE TO PAY SUCH FEE, SAID AMENDMENT CHANGING THE FEE FOR BUSINESS OCCUPANCY AS PROVIDED IN SUBSECTIONS (e) and (g), AND PRESCRIBING COLLECTION FEES FOR SUCH OCCUPANCY. BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That Chapter ii of The Code of the City of Sanford, Florida 1954, Section 11.13, subsections (e) and (g) thereof, be, and the same is hereby amended in words and figures as follows: "(e) For each business occupancy (which term shall embrace solely any occupancy for profit, other than a purely residential or a residential occupancy) the fee to be paid to the City shalI be as follows: Daily average collection Monthly in Cubic Yards Fee 0 i. 267 $ 3. 00 1. 267 I. 667 4. 50 i. 667 - 2. 167 6. O0 5.000 6.667 44.00 6.667 8.333 56.00 8.333 10o000 68.00 10.000 - 13.000 80.00 13.000 16.000 92.00 "(g) The monthly fee provided in subsections (a) through (f) shall cover the uniform refuse collection service provided for all useages similarly situated throughout the City of S:anford. Upon application of an owner to the City Manager, or upon his own investigation, the City Manager is hereby vested with authority when the daily average collection of refuse exceeds 16. 000 cubic yards, to establish the monthly refuse collection fee therefor and so notify the user that such fee has baen established and that the final establishment of such fee will be presented to the City Commission for final approval at a regular meeting, which meeting shall not be less than ten (i0) days after such notification, and that such user can appear and be heard at such meeting. The said fee established by the City Manager shall become the fee when approved by the City Commission." SECTION 2. Ail ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be, and the same are hereby repealed. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. 2 PASSED AND ADOPTED this llth day of April, A.D. 1960.
