HomeMy WebLinkAbout727ORDINANCE NO. 727 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA ANNEXING TO AND INCLUDING WITHIN THE CORPORATE AREA OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, THE AREA KNOWN AS A PORTION OF E. R. TRAFFORD'S MAP , ACCORDING TO THE PUBLIC RECORDS OF SEMINOLE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREINAFTER; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE FOR SAID ANNEXATION AND FOR THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES FOR CITIZENSHIP IN THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA. WHEREAS, there has been filed with the City Clerk of the City of Sanford, Florida, one (1) petition containing the name of one (1) property owner in the area known as a portion of E. R. Trafford's Map of Sanford, Seminole County, Florida, according to the Public Records thereof, requesting annexation to the corporate area of the City of Sanford, Florida and requesting to be included therein, and WHEREAS, said petition was duly certified to the tax assessor of Seminole County, Florida, pursuant to Chapter 57-1815, Laws of Florida, Acts of 1957, and the certification of the tax assessor of Seminole County, Florida as to the sufficiency of such petition put- suant to the terms of said Act received, and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida has deemed it in the best interest of the City to accept said petition and to annex said area, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That that certain area known as a portion of E. R. Trafford's Map of Sanford, according to the Public Records of Seminole County, Florida, and more particularly described as follows, to-wit: t:beginning at a point where the center line of Twenty-Fifth Street intersects the East right-of-way line of Marshall Avenue extended, thence going South along said East right-of-way line of Marshall Avenue a distance of 1,470 feet to a point where the South right-of-way line of an unnamed street extended intersects the East right-of-way line of Maz'shall Avenue, thence West a distance of 369.56 feet along said South right-of-way line of the unnamed street to a point of intersection of the West right-of-way line of Hartwell Avenue, thence North along said right-of-way of Hartwell Avenue extended a distance of 1,470 feet to a point of intersection with the center line of Twenty-Fifth Street, thence East along said center line of Twenty-Fifth Street to the point of beginning; all according to E. R. Trafford's Map thereof recorded in Plat Book 1, pages 56-64, Public Records of Seminole County, Florida, be, and the same is hereby annexed to and made a part of the City of Sanford, Florida, pursuant to the terms of Chapter 57-1815, Laws of Florida, Acts of 1957. SECTION 2. That upon this Ordinance becoming effective, the residents and property owners in the above-described annexed area shall be entitled to all of the rights and privileges and immunities as are from time to time granted to residents and property owners of the City of Sanford, Florida, and as are further provided in Chapter 57-1815, Laws of Florida, Acts of 1957, and shall further be subject to the responsibilities of residency or ownership as may be from time to time determined by the governing authority of the City of Sanford, Florida, and the provisions of said Chapter 57-1815, Laws of Florida, Acts of 1957.
