AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD,
FLORIDA AMENDING SECTION 4-20 OF CHAPTER
4, THE CODE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA,
1954, AS AMENDED, SAID SECTION PROVIDING FOR
THE NUMBER OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE LICENSES
TO BE ISSUED AND PROVIDING FOR A FIVE HUNDRED
FOOT RULE, SAID AMENDMENT INCLUDING BEER
AND WINE LICENSES WITHIN THE SAID FIVE
HUNDRED FOOT RULE LIMITATION.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA:
SECTION I. That Section 4-20 of Chapter 4, The Code of the
City of Sanford, Florida, 1954, as amended, providing for the number
of beverage licenses to be issued and for the five hundred foot rule, be
and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
Permits and licenses to vendors of intoxicating liquors,
except wine and beer, shall not be granted in excess of one
permit and license to each fifteen hundred persons in the city
according to the last census thereof state or federal, as the
case may be, nor to any vendor of such intoxicating liquors,
including beer and wine for consumption on the premises,
whose place of business would be located within five hundred
feet of an already established place of business of any other
vendor of such intoxicating liquors; provided, however,
that the location of all such places of business and permits
granted on and prior to the date this section becomes
effective shall in no way be affected by this section and are
hereby approved; provided further, that any regularly
established hotel in the city, having twenty-five or more rooms
shall be exempt from the provisions of this section, and the
same shall not apply thereto.
SECTION 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith be, and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and adoption.
