AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD,
FLORIDA CREATING THE DEPARTMENT OF
FINANCE AND PROVIDING FOR THE DEPART-
MENTAL ORGAINZATION THEREOF; AND THE
SUPERVISORY PERSONNEL REQUIRED THEREIN.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA:
SECTION I. That there is hereby created the Department of
Finance, which said Department shall be administered by a finance
director who will be appointed by the City Commission and who will serve
at the pleasure of the City Commission and at a salary to be established by
the City Commission.
SECTION 2. The Department of Finance shall be divided into
the following divisions:
(a) City Clerk to be appointed by the City
Commission.
(b) City Tax Collector to be appointed by the
City Commission.
(c) City Tax Assessor to be appointed by the
City Commission.
(d) Licensing Officer to be appointed by the
Finance Director and such appointment to be confirmed
by the City Manager.
(e) Bookkeeper Supervisor to be appointed by the
Finance Director and confirmed by the City Manager.
SECTION 3. The aforesaid divisions and supervisors above
named shall be completely responsible for the performance of all work
as is set forth in the City Charter, and in addition thereto, as specified
by the Finance Director, City Manager or City Commission.
SECTION 4. It is the intention of this ordinance to group all
phases of responsibility formerly performed by the above five divisions
within the Department of Finance under the direction and supervision of
the Finance Director, and in any case of conflict between the divisions
hereof and the Charter of the City of Sanford, Florida, then said Charter
shall prevail.
SECTION 5. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith, be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 6. This ordinance shall become effective immediately
upon its passage and adoption.
