AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, MAKING IT UNLAWFUL
FOR ANY PERSON TO MISTREAT, INJURE, KILL OR
MOLEST ANY CITY POLICE DOG OR TO INTERFERE
WITH THE FUNCTIONS OF SUCH POLICE DOG.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. It shall be unlawful for any person to wilfully or
maliciously torture, torment, beat, kick, strike, mutilate, injure, disable
or kill any dog used by the Police Department of the City of Sanford, Florida,
in the performance of the functions or duties of such Department, or to
h~terfere with or meddle with any such dog while being used by said
Department of any officer or employee thereof.
SECTION 2. Any person violating any provision of this ordinance
shall be punished according to The Code of the City of Sanford, Florida,
1954, as amended.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall become effective immediately
upon its passage and adoption.
