Present: Mayor Jeff Triplett Vice Mayor Patty Mahany Commissioner Mark M Commissioner Velma Williams Commissioner Randy Jones Assistant City Attorney Lonnie Groot Deputy City Clerk Cynthia Porter Absent: Interim City Manager Tom George City Clerk Janet Dougherty 1) Mayor Triplett called the meeting to order at 9:09 AM. 2) Discussion of City Manager selection. Mayor Triplett reported that David Jones accepted the offer from Polk County, Iowa to become its Administrator. Mr. Jones was very much a gentleman who said that he was impressed with the Commission, Staff, and the community and that Sanford is a great City with a lot of potential. Commissioner Jones moved to make Norton Bonaparte, Jr., the number one selection for the City Manager position, to extend him the offer of employment, and allow the Mayor to negotiate a contract to bring back to the Commission for approval.
