From: Debbie Simmons, City Manager's Office Date: 10/06/2011 Agreement to Renew Collective Bargaining _Agreement =' This Agreement to Renew Collective Bargaining Agreement is entered into by and between the City of Sanford (City) and the United Service Workers Union, USWU, Local 555 (Union). WHEREAS, the City and the Union were parties to a collective bargaining agreement effective -01 through September 30, 2010 and renewed for FY 2010 -2011 effective from October 1, 2010 through September 30, 2011; w WHEREAS, the parties have agreed to renew such agreement for an additional year•, NOW, THEREFORE, the parties hereby agree, as follows: 1. The City and the Union agree that the Agreement between United Service Workers Union USWU, Local 555 and the City of Sanford (Contract Effective 2007 -2010) shall be renewed for FY 2011 -2012 effective from October 1, 2011 through September 30, 2012. 2. The parties agree that the wages set forth in Article 32 of the Agreement expired on September 30, 2010, and the parties agree that there shall be no wage or cost -of- living increases for FY 2011 -2012 for bargaining unit members. The parties agree that any wage or cost -of- living increases after September 30, 2012 must be negotiated between the City and the Union. 3. For the period from October 1, 2011 through September 30, 2012 only, the City will not separate from employment any employees in the bargaining unit classifications identified in Article 2 of the Agreement due to a reduction -in- force. This provision does not prohibit separations for reasons other than a reduction -in- force, such as disciplinary terminations, nor require the City to fill vacant positions.
