0130411 1 it �J 1 1 MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA,__ january 30 _ -39-no P M.19 -143- The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in adjourned session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 3:00 o'clock P.M. January 30,1941. Present: Commissioner W.C. Hill, Mayor. if H.James Gut Edward Higgins " M.J.Lodge " G E Rollins City Clerk H N Sayer Meeting called to order by the Chairman. Mr F W Bender, representative for the Cooledge Realty & Trust Company of Atlanta, Georgia next appeared with further reference to selling the City the Cooledge Warehouse property located at the southwest corner of French Avenue and Sixth Street, and advised the Commission that the Cooledge Realty & Trust Company had agreed to accept a price of $6,300.00 payable on terms as follows: Cash payment of $300.00 and balance in monthly instalments of $75.OU each, to include interest at 6% on the unpaid balance. Thereupon Commissioner Higgins moved that the City present an offer to the Cooledge Realty & Trust Company to purchase the aforesaid property at a price of X6,300.00, payable on the following terms: Cash payment of $300.00 to apply on the purchase price , and payment of interest at 6% to October 1, 1941 on the balance of X6,000.00. Beginning October 1, 1941 the balance of 46,000.00 to be paid in monthly installments of $75.00 each, to include interest at 6,� on the unpaid balance. The deed to be placed in escrow at the Sanford Atlantic A ational Bank with instructions to be delivered upon receipt of payment of entire balance of the purchase price. Seconded by Commissioner Lodge and carried. Consideration next given to the matter of instituting foreclosure proceedings against all improved real property upon which taxes and /or special assessment liens are delinquent for over two years. After considerable discussion and on motion duly carried the City attorney was instructed to prepare a resolution authorizing such foreclosure proceedings, for passage at the next meeting. Consideration next given to the agreement with the Executors of the M.F. Robinson Estate autLorized by the City Commission at a meeting of June 13, 1938, in connection with the City acquiring title to the parts of Blocks 14 and 22 of Chapman & Tucker's Addition lying south of First Street thru foreclosure of tax and special assessment liens, said property theretofore owned by the M.F.Robinson Estate; whereby the City agreed to convey to the M.F.Robinson Estate a 10U foot frontage of the aforesaid property and also issue them tax receipts for the years 1932 thru 1936 on the S. 24 ft of Lot 12 Block 3 Tier 2, E.R. Trafford's .Map of Sanford. Thereupon after considerable discussion, and in view of the fact that the Executors of the M.F.Robinson Estate have decided they do not want a 100 foot frontage of block 14 end 22 of Chapman & `S'ucker's Addition, the Commission-authorized City Attorney 'Filson to offer them , for arktin consideration of the aforesaid agreement, tax receipts for the years 1932 thru 1939 against the S. 24 ft. of Lot 12 Block 3 Tier 2, E.R.Trafford's Map of 13anf ord, or a tax credit in amount of $1,200.00 to be applied on City Taxes against any other property owned by M.F.Robinson Estate. 41.4. MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA,. January 30 at 3:00 P M 19 41 Inspector Duncan next reported that the building located on Lot 2 Block D Markham Park Heights is in a dilapidated condition and a fire hazard, and recommended that same be condemned and removed. Thereupon the City Attorney was instructed to prepare a resolution condemning this building, for passage at the next meeting of the Commission. On motion of Commissioner Higgins , seconded by Commissioner Rollins and carried, the City Attorney and City Clerk were next authorized access to Safety Deposit Box No. 265 at the Sanford Atlantic National Bank for the purpose of obtaining $3,000.00 Water Plant Revenue Certificates held by the Insurance Fund to have the interest payment due February 1, 1941 credited thereto.
