MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COMMIISSION OF-THE CITY OF SATIFORD, FLORIDA
HELD AT THE CITY HALL IN SAID CITY ON THE ") 20th. DAY OF MAY , 1941 AT
THREE O' :;LOCK P.M.
The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida met in snecial session at the
City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida at 3:00 o'clock P.M. May 20, 1941.
Present: Commissioner W.C. Hill, Mayor
H. James Gut
of M.J.Lodge
City Attorney Fred R.Wilson
City Clerk H N Sayer
Absent: Commissioner Edward Higgins

The meeting was called to order by Mayor W.C.Hill who announced that the nurpose
of the meeting was to consider the establishment of a housing authority in the City
of Sanford, Florida, under the Federal and State Statutes relating thereto.
Thereupon after discussion of the matter , Commissioner Gut offered Resolution No.
602, entitled:
A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE NEED FOR A HOUSING AUTHORITY IN THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORI
and same was read in full by the Clerk.
The motion to adopt said Resolution No. 602 was seconded by Commissioner Lodge,
and upon roll call the following vote was recorded:

Thereupon Mayor W C Hill anno,.znced that the City Commission of the City of
Sanford Florida, had passed and adopted said Resolution No. 602 with title as above
stated and which resolution is in words and figures as follows:
RESOLUTION NO. 602.
A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE NEED FOR A HOUSING AUTHORITY IN THE CITY
OF SANFORD) FLORIDA.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SANFORD. FLORIDA:
THAT the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, hereby determines, finds
and declares in pursuance of the " Housing Authorities Law" of the State of Florida, that:
1 Insanitary and unsafe inhabited dwelling accomodations exist in the City of
Sanford, Florida; and
2. There is a shortage of safe and sanitary dwelling accomodations in the City of
Sanford, Florida, available to families of low income at rentals they can afford; and
3. There is need for a housing authority in the City of Sanford , Florida.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the City of Sanford, be promptly notified
of the adoption of this resolution.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution shall become effective immediately
upon its passage and adoption,
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20th, day of May 1941.

The Mayor of the City of Sanford being present at the meeting was thereupon notified of
the ado -otion of the said resolution.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
