The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida met in adjourned session at
the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 4:oo o'clock P.M. May 28, 1941.
Present: Commissioner W.C. Hill, Mayor.

Meeting called to order by the Chairman.
Application next received from Frank L.Woodruff for an adjustment of the assessed
valuation in amo,j.nt of $3,150.00 for years 1934 thiti, 1940 against Lot 5 Block 3 Tier 7,
claiming that the assessments are too high.
Thereupon after careful comparison of the assessed valuation of this property with
similar properties, Commissioner Gut moved that the assessed valuation be adjusted to
$2700.00 for the years 1934 thru 1940.
Seconded by Commissioner Higgins and carried.
Application next received from John Metsch for an adjustment of the assessed
valuation in amount of 3,400.00 for years 1937, 193 and 1939 and $3,000.00 for 1940
against Lots 7 and 8 Block 2 Tier 9, claiming that the assessments are too high.
Thereunon after careful comparison of the assessed valuation of this property with
similar properties similarly located, Commissioner Lodge moved that the assessed valuation
be adjusted to $2700.00 for the years 1937 thru 1940.
Seconded by Commissioner Higgins and carried.
Hprlication next received from Mrs Mae Hallman for an adjustment of the assessed
valution in amount of $2,550.00 for years 1934 thru 1940 against Lot 7 Block 2 Tier 8,
claiming that the assessments are too high.
Thereupon after careful compa.risbn of the assessed valuation of this property
with similar prooerties, Commissioner Gut moved that the assessed valuation be adjusted
to $2,300.00 for years 1934 thru 1940.
Seconded by Commissioner Lodge and carried.
Application -next received from Mrs J L Hurt for an adjustment of the assessed
valuation in amount of $2,260.00 for years 1934 thru 1940 a.gainst Lot 8 Block 12 Tier 4
claiming that the assessments are too high.
Thereupon after careful comparison of the assessed valuation of this property with
similar properties in the same - neighborhood , it was the opinion of the Commission that
the aforesaid assessed valuation is well in line and no adjustment could be allowed.
Application next received from Mrs Christina. M Meil for an adjustment of the assess
ed. valuation in amount of $1,490.00 for years 1934 thru 1940 against Lot 7 Block 6
Tier 2, claiming that the assessments are too high.
Thereunon after careful comparison of the assessed valuation of this property
with similar properties similarly located, it was the opinion of the Commission that
the aforesaid assessed valuation is wt�11 in 11ne and no adjustment could be allowed.
The Clerk next reported that Lot 5 Block 11 Tier C, was assessed with two
dwelling houses for years 1936 thru 1938, whereas, one of the houses was removed without
a hermit in 1935, and that no reduction was allowed in the assessed valuation for the
removal of this house until 1939.

Thereupon in order to correct this error in assessment, Commissioner Lodge moved
that the assessed valuation be adjusted to $750-00 for years 1936 thru 1939, which
is the amount of the assessed valuation placed on this property for 1939 and 1940.

Seconded by Commissioner Gut and carried.
The following request next received for an extension of time in which to pay delinquent
taxes against properties on which foreclosure proceedings are being instituted by the
City for collection of such taxes.:
Request from Robert Hill to be allowed to pay $40.00 now and balance in monthly
instalments of $6.00 each , of the delinquent taxes for years 1936 thru 1940 against
Lot 8 dock 9 Tier G.
Request granted.
Request from .'rrs Clara 31ack to be allowed to -oay $100.00 now and balance within
60 days, of the delinquent taxes for years 1932 thru 1940 against the S. 40 ft of
Lot 8 3lock 17 Chapman & `Pucker's Addition..
Request granted.
On motion of Commissioner Higgins, seconded by Commissioner Gut and carried, the
Commission next authorized the payment of ex- o.ense bill of Mayor Hill in amount of
$18.97 for expenses in connection with trips to Orlando and Tallahassee concerning
the City's airport project.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
