The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in adjourned session at
the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at S:oo P.M.April 11, 1940.
Present: Commissioner 'palter S. Coleman, Mayor.

Meeting called to order by the Chairman.
Mr. B.G.Curtis , representative of the Industrial Engineering Location Company,
Tampa, Florida, next appeared with reference to making an industrial survey of Sanford,
stating that they have had a recent inquiry from a textile industry that is considering
Sanford as a probable location -for their plant, which would represent an investment in the
City of approximately $60,000.00 and the employement of 270 white persons, but that in
order to furnish this textile company with the necessary information in regard to Sanford
being a suitable location for their plant, it will be ncecessary to make an industrial
survey of the City. He also informed the Commission that his company had made industrial
surveys for thirty -eight Florida cities within the past four and one half years and
had located forty -five industries in these cities during this period.
Mr. Curtis then offered to make an industrial survey of Sanford at a cost of
$250.00, payable on the following terms: Payment of $125.00 upon the execution of
contract for such survey, and the balance in amount of $125.00 payable upon the Industrial
Engineering Location Company locating an industry employing twenty -five or more persons
within the City or within one mile of its corporate limits.
Action deferred, pending recommendations from the Industrial Committee of the Semi-
nole County Chamber of Coaiaerce
There being no further business the meeting then adjourned until 2 :30 o'clock
P.M. April 13, 1940-
